I had the misfortune of visiting this store whilst in Romsey today. The old lady in store was incredibly rude, I have never experienced anything like it. I was interested in purchasing a designer cashmere jumper but they didn't take American Express and her manner made me so uncomfortable that I left. I later returned to purchase as I loved it so much but again she was incredibly rude, initially blanking me whilst I waited at the till with the garment. Her rudeness continued to the point where I eventually commented that I was unsure of purchasing due to her manner. She stormed off with the garment saying she was unsure about me, commenting rudely about me to another customer. So unprofessional! I have never had anyone speak to me in such a way or belittle me like that, in life let alone by a retailer as their customer. My friend had already been made to feel as though she was being done a favour when she made her purchase but sadly no returns!! The other customer sweetly checked on me afterwards as I was in tears in the street, she was flabbergasted as to how this woman had behaved. I gather that this woman apparently the store owner has this reputation in Romsey, being rude to very well healed people that she felt didn't look right. Treating them as though they were beneath her. Such a shame as her business is clearly not thriving if her store is already in sale. You try to support independent businesses, particularly during these tough times. I cannot possibly recommend this store however and will obviously purchase the lovely jumper elsewhere.
Regatta in Romsey is a fantastic shop. The owner and all of her staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Regatta
Fabulous range of gorgeous clothing. Can’t wait to go back again.
