Went here for coffee and light lunch with my friend. Coffe was lovely and my bacon and cheese turn over was delicious. Friend had the sausage roll which was even better. Great selection of sweet and savory. The customer service was wonderful they are very friendly, especially Tegan and Chris who served us. A stark difference from the other Winchester bakery which had a poor selection and the woman shouted at us quite rudely to shut the door when it wasnt even us who left it open. Definitely coming here again :
Fabulous cheese straws on first visit, the donuts are really yummy! Almond croissant was nice but not the best I’ve had, it very little of the almond paste in the middle which I prefer! We tried the Iced coffee good and a cappuccino I would say was average! Overall a nice place to grab some goodies, very pleasant staff & good to support local!
What a fantastic artisan bakery in Winchester. I had a breakfast roll, fabulous day filling. As I sat in having it, gradually the shop filled with locals getting breakfast, lunch, and delicious cakes. I will revisit it because, basically I love good fresh food. This place is a must.
Some of the nicest steak pasties we've had - it said it was a hot pepper steak and it was. Just the right amount of pepper! Sausage rolls are generous and the breakfast roll didn't disappoint with 3 sausages and a slab of French style baguette. Good range of pastries and breads cafe upstairs as well. Possibly bit the cheapest place to grab a bite 2 pasties, a sausage roll, breakfast baguette and cookie came in at £15 but definitely worth it
The staff at Reeve The Baker Winchester are astonishingly rude and unprofessional. It is evident that they do not know how to treat people with the most basic level of courtesy and respect. Based on similar concerning accounts shared by other reviewers, it appears that this is a longstanding issue. On our last visit, one employee decided it would be appropriate to make a snide and entirely unnecessary remark regarding our failing to observe a sign in the store. This was projected very loudly, undoubtedly with the intention of it being heard. Other employees seemed to revel at this remark, and saw no problem with their colleague’s unsolicited animosity. I was completely appalled and dumbfounded by the immense audacity of the employee, who, as she spoke, wore a vile expression that illustrated how very pleased she was with herself and her exceptionally clever comment. It seems that the staff have long enjoyed efforts at making their customers feel stupid. I can only assume that this is a misdirected attempt at compensating for some sort of dissatisfaction of a personal nature. This place is best avoided - there are plenty of alternatives in town. At their best, the staff approach their job with a sour attitude, creating an unsavoury atmosphere. At their worst, they are more than capable of unapologetically being the most repulsive employees you will likely encounter. When staff are able to confidently continue to exhibit such behaviour without fear of consequence, I do have to wonder what sort of an establishment Reeve The Baker is.
The food was excellent. The service downstairs was warm, friendly. However, after ordering to eat in, a mistake was made and the lady was rude, aggressive and totally ruined our experience.
Lot of good options to choose from. Seating area at the 1st floor and in the ground floor it’s take away. The menu looks different upstairs and also people are not friendly. Coffee served was really bad for the money paid & it was just from a coffee machine directly. Food was average. This is a place good for take away which costs you less and better options to choose from. The people below were friendly as well.
The sandwiches are super dry,the Wiltshire pasties are heavy and disgusting the same as there sausage rolls. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
This place is often busy so I thought I’d try it even though I don’t eat gluten. I asked if they had anything gluten free and they laughed. Well news flash, many people can’t have gluten and gluten free options for bread, pasta, pizza crust, cookies, brownies, etc are everywhere. One person there said the macaroons are gluten free so I got that for my spouse since he likes macaroons. He really enjoyed it and said it was fresh. So I went back again and got macaroons. Unfortunately there was paper stuck on them as if it was fondant icing. I thought it was fondant because the macaroon was so intensely sweet but I discovered it was indeed paper stuck on it with no way to get it off as if the paper was baked into it. See my photo and you’ll know what I mean. Had I noticed in the store I would’ve said something but this is a place where you get items to go. The macaroon was fresh and moist but way too sweet and the paper ruined it for me.
Love Reeves. We had the Wiltshire pasties as usual nom nom nom. Their sausage rolls and cheese straws are wonderful as well. The upstairs cafe area is a nice to sit and we always get a lemon tart and a macaroon for later. Always worth a visit.
