Lovely place to visit with family and friends. Colessa gave us all a fabulous tour guide of her castle, she has so much knowledge about it's origins and history through the years. Worth a visit if interested in history and castles of Ireland.
Beautiful castle and a great tour from Careesa, she told us all the history and how the castle was lovingly restored, a must to visit.
Lovely castle was closed as too early in the season. Looking forward to seeing it in summer. Been back. Had a wonderful tour by the owner. Spent hour n half with her. Had a great time even went on the roof. Very informative. Five euro each. Well worth the money

It's not so much the Towerhouse itself, but the guided tour by Mrs. Egan, weich makes this visit a nice experience.
Restored with private funds and away from the crowds. A beautifully restored castle. Our guide was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Was our favorite castle tour after 10 days in Ireland. Nearby the beautiful Shannon River.
I first visited Redwood Castle after a search for my own line led me to Castlebar in Connaught. There I connected with the elderly Mrs Egan whose husband purchased and restored the castle in the 70s. I was invited to an Egan Clan Gathering at the castle that weekend which connected me with Egans from all over the world. I'm a great believer that knowing our roots helps us understand who we are so I've brought my children and grandchildren to Redwood several times over the years because the tour guides provide a knowledgeable understanding of the life and times of Egans throughout Irish history.
If you like history, you will love this place. Our guide was lovely and explained us all about the castle and its history. You could see almost all the rooms and walked up all the way to the rooftop. I do recommend the visit. Check their web site to learn about the days they are open.
This is my clan castle and Coleesa Egan who runs it is so generous, kind, and knowledgeable. She opened early in the season since we were visiting from Canada in June and gave us a tour. I can’t wait to take my kids back someday. A wonderful place to visit.
Went on a private tour today, it was amazing!! The host was knowledgeable, witty and kind. This is a visit of a lifetime thank you !!
