Amazing how they use the cave to screen movies, the gentleman who was making the introductions was quirky and very good, very informative and friendly. I will definitely go again, such a great experience
Great unusual experience. Screening of a masterpiece piece underground. There was a technical glitch but the crowd rolled with it. But overall was great and would love to do it again. * plastic chairs *
Had the chance to explore the caves as part of Open Doors and loved it. Staff/helpers were lovely, welcoming and knowledgeable! Bristol Film Festival use the caves for their Horror series, well worth a visit too!
Excellent walk underground beneath Redcliffe. Well worth a visit. Make sure you take a torch.
Difficult to know how to rate a cave. Meets many of the basic criteria of caveness. There are more beautiful caves, even in the South West, but this has the added curiosity of being in the centre of the city, and man-made. Only open for events and guided tours.
Amazing hidden gem if you can get tickets for an open day do it!
My first ever experience of "Bristol Open Days" event and I loved it! Have admit, was one of those in the rush and forgot to bring my own torch, but phone did a good job too! Queue seemed like it's not going to end, but staff did a great job and passed everyone through quite quickly. Worth getting more staff - just to manage the queues better and keep everyone inform-I would say. Astonishing sound effects and overall walk plan. Don't blame volunteers for not knowing much and bless them for their patience in answering all never-ending-questions. Would definitely recommend, at least once to visit. A hidden secret and another bit of history of Bristol was discovered by all of us yesterday. Well done!
Really amazing caves. I wasn't too impressed with the open doors event itself - some random noises playing through speakers with no explanation, and absolutely no history or information about the caves themselves - but all the same it was amazing walking through all the tunnels. Will have to google how/why they're there and find out a bit more! Such a shame we didn't get the info when we were there.
It's a lovely piece of land and water, but you must look after your children & dogs. There can be broken glass, and the water's edge can be dangerous for the young or old
