Reasonably steep but a great walk and an adventure. I love the feel of the tracks and the area. Lovely view and lovely plants and trees. You rarely come into contact with other people so it's a great way to get away from stress and just chill.
Some very steep hills but some super views across Belfast to go with them. Worth the climb. Some easier paths in there as well.
Not as busy as many other well known parks / forests in and around Belfast. Some steep paths, but these can be avoided to stay on an easier route. Some great views of Belfast - was really quiet the day we were up and you can take a short walk or go for a longer distance. Most paths are not suitable for a buggy. You will pass the odd dog walker and runner - other than this super quiet. Nice site for a quiet walk. Good parking at key entry points.
Quite hilly, but a lovely walk with great views over the city and the planes can be seen landing down at the docs. Bring good shoes as it's quite muddy too.
Nice wooded country park in Holywood. There's great views of Belfast lough from the top of the park. The walk can be steep in parts and it's possible to lose your bearings if you don't pay attention to the maps in the carpark and at the top. There's a well marked blue colour coded 5km walk to follow around the park.
Pretty quiet walk with numerous paths/routes to take. Can pick the tougher ones if you're feeling extra energetic! The view at the top was worth my struggle on the steep hills. Great for dogs too. But not all dog owners seem to pick up their poop which can be off putting to the trail.
Lovely 5k walk, there are a few small hills...to get to the top and it can be very mucky when it's raining but the view at the top is worth it. I would also recommend visiting the men sheds if you have the kids with you. They always have little projects to put a smile on the adults and kids faces.
A nice place to spend your day. About five miles away from the Belfast city and you can take a bus or a train to Hollywood and from the bus stop its about 30 minutes walk to the park. You can walk around the park but it is muddy and slippery in some places during rainy days. Get ready for a small hike if you are going. You can see a nice scenery of Belfast harbor and the Holywood beach while you are walking in the park. Not much crowded.
If you like hiking, you'll enjoy climbing to the top. The views on the sunny day are great and the atmosphere so serene. One of the Belfast's closest country parks. Worth a visit!
Great view on a sunny day. Steep climb in some parts.
