Found this place by accident, was busy with people outside sat enjoying the sunshine so thought I must come back. Visited on a sunny evening, only bought a few drinks. Staff very polite and friendly as we're other customers. Sat out in the beer garden to enjoy the evening sun before leaving. Would recommend for a nice little country hideaway within commuting distance to Lincoln and the M180. Git eyes on some of the food served to others too, loomed amazing, we will return.
Birthday party for 11 . Service excellent. Food excellent. Not one complaint about anything. Well done to the staff. Highly recommendService: 5/5
Where do I start...... lovely decor, great for drinks. Waiting staff were polite. However, got there and was told there was not a table available but would be about 15 minutes for one to come available which I didn't mind. On orderimg food we were told there is a bit of a wait. What I wasn't expecting was an hour wait for a 8oz rump steak with peas and triple cooked chips with a garlic mushroom sauce. The steak was cooked to how I wanted it but how someone can ruin peas to what looked like canned peas along with triple cooked chips, for half of then to be undercooked I was not impressed at all. I will not be going here for food again as the price does not reflect the quality of the food.
Nice meal, attentive waitresses. Can recommend. I had a curry which was very nice, others had gammon and fish. Desserts were very nice. I had a strawberry and apple crumble and it was delicious. Plenty of parking.Service: 4/5
If you are looking for a Sunday roast with a touch of class but on a reasonable budget then this place offers all that and much more. My friend and I booked a table for lunch before heading over to nearby Messingham Sand quarry wildlife reserve. Service and ambience are several notches above your average gastro pub and the meals well presented, tasty and generous. I've driven by in the past thinking I bet that menu will be above my limited budget, thankfully I was wrong in my assumptions. Thanks to the staff for a meal to remember and I will return to sample dishes from the specials board soon , subject to gluten free options of course. Almost a 5 star rating from us, there was a great selection of vegetables served and in decent measure. However the preparation was inconsistent with some either under or over cooked, some hot others cold. Noteworthy details: Situated in the middle of Redbourne, the Red Lion coaching inn is a great location
I was looking foreward to the new menu and I ordered the Thai green curry with chicken after a typical man look at the menu. It was my error and I thought it was a choice between chicken or prawns..it arrived with both....the staff were amazing, I waited whilst they took away my mistake and remade a chicken Thai green curry. No fuss, no argument just a completely great experience and a wonderful curry. Definitely worth a visit, i am a converted regular to this pub. Customer service and food that were both amazing. Sorry for my mistake.and thank you.
I would personally never stay in this hotel again.... The bed awful didn't sleep a wink the bathroom 50 year old green nasty outdated not clean definitely not hygienic felt more like a one star hostil for bad boys.... Nothing at all modern barely enough electric points small dingy depressing dark I've seen better prison sells on TV! Dinner surprisingly good and the service polite and professional no problems at all breakfast not bad at all and the service was good again so just a massive let down accommodation wise . In short visit eat drink! Never never never STAY! ITS QUITE SIMPLY HONESTLY AWFUL! it needs major revenue throughout!
Under new management so no carvery anymore but the Sunday lunch was very nice. We sat in the beer garden, I'm not sure if they allow dogs inside. I don't think it's a hotel.Service: 5/5
Expensive food & some pretencious staff, not everyone. We were looked up & down in our work gear as if why were we eating here kind of look. The lady whobtook our food order wasnt very friendly at all, it was only because we were working nearby & hungry we stayed and ate lunch. £87.00 for 3 lunches & a drink each . Should of been treated like kings at these prices per head. Wont be returning again but the food was exellent.
A lovely lunch at the red lion and a trip down memory lane for us . Some changes but the friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and gorgeous food are the same. We will be back soon. We wish the new owners all the very best. Joyce and Keith duckworth.Service: 5/5
