Location was great looking at the fishing boats whilst eating. I have visited Cornwall many times and I can honestly say this was the best crab sandwich I have had. My friends had whitebait, prawn salad and gammon and chips, All of which were excellent. Staff were lovely and helpful . Would highly recommend and will be back on my next visit.
Authentic, lovely pub with a great beer garden out the back with some sea views. The crab soup is beautiful and worth the visit alone. Highly recommended.
This is true tribute to the English pub, welcoming and friendly which serves up some very good food. Booking in advance is essential unless you’re very lucky, we enjoyed the delicious crab soup, whitebait starters and the grilled fish was excellent. This is somewhere we come every time we’re in Penzance/newlyn even for a beer to enjoy the friendly local atmosphere.
Quaint little pub. Your typical local pub used by the fisherman and locals. Views of the harbour and sea. I've never heard anyone say that the food was bad. I haven't eaten here before but I definitely would come here for a meal
Took my wife and young son to Cornwall in September 2022 on our first family holiday away. We visited Newlyn and the Red Lion and it was fantastic. Made happy memories here and will never forget. Staff are lovely and friendly, the food crab sandwiches, or cobs as we call them was great and Tribute tastes a millions miles better than up in the North Mids!
We had a lovely meal here, usual scampi, fish n chips. All fresh and tasty. Would have been 5 But the service was a little lazy, enjoyable experience overall.
This is a traditional local pub that has retained its character unlike the refurbished fishermans arms up the road. The food was very reasonably priced and was good. The staff were friendly and this place has an atmosphere. I would return here again.
Nice pub in Newlyn overlooking the fishing harbour. Pool table , Juke box and dog welcome. Menu looked good but we didn't eat. 2 real ales on
Simple pub grub well done. The pub is rustic and overlooks the harbour, staff friendly. We had a starter of crab soup which was fresh, delicious and a large portion. Then I had fish and chips, fresh and perfectly cooked. My partner had the crab fish cake which was fresh, homemade and large. Good food, reasonable prices, good sized portions. Very nice
Delicious roast with generous portions. Friendly welcome. Good drinks. Attentive service. Pretty garden. We will be back!
