Stopped by around 10:30/11am for breakfast. There was a small line up. We managed to get a seat quickly. The waitress warned us that the food would take a little while, but we found it to be very quick after we ordered. Service - there really isn’t any, you order everything through your app or online and they drop it off/walk away. Food - the bread came in buttered without, and there were no condiments anywhere to be seen. Normally not a big deal as you can just ask your waitress, but as mentioned above, no one is serving you. Other than that, the quality overall was mediocre at best. I understand it’s airport food, but I was still disappointed. Drinks - there was no option for free/tap water. You were forced to pay nearly 3£ for bottled water as one of the cheapest beverages.
A distinctly average start to holiday. After seating we used the app to order. Service, cleanliness and tidiness were all slightly lacking with the extended restaurant looking like there had recently been a mass evacuation. Menus were hard to find and we had to look around for enough to look at. The kids didn't have smart phones so sharing wasn't really an option. The food arrived quickly enough but was warm not hot and had clearly been sitting on the hot plate for a while with skin on pasta sauce and cold chips. There was very little staff interaction for us to comment at the time and with flights to catch not enough time to find anyone. If you have hungry, people, no time and no choice then this is the place to you. Prices and service at the Red Lion definitely cater for the captured audience.
Worst airport service and "Beyond Meat" burger I have ever had. Very busy night, so tables were not cleared at all. Had to clear and wipe down myself. Then ordered a beer which never arrived and had to go to bar to get it myself and this sad looking burger for £12.50 which was overdone and dry. Complained about it, and was told by a server that a new burger would be made, but 30 mins later, nothing arrived and when the manager checked, no new burger was ever entered. Ended up getting a refund because the flight was about to leave but what a disappointment.
The all day breakfast with fries was very good. The fries particularly were nice and chunky, quite the opposite to McDonalds. The price was very good for an airport. Food here was actually better than quite a few business class lounges we've been to.
Breakfast ordered on the app. They gave me a small breakfast when I ordered a large one. They changed this, but new breakfast mainly cold. Bacon like cardboard and cold as was the very tiny mushroom. Toast was cold as well as being soggy. Poor quality for the price. I would suggest give the Red lion a miss and use any of the other restaurants which are less crowded, similar prices but better quality.
It's very busy in early mornings. Always queue to get table for breakfast, but worth to wait. Big portions and quick service.
Usually I quite enjoy weatherspoon but I have to be honest. 1. What's with the Stella in a geezer bird glass? 2. Dry Food. 3. Very expensive £18.50.
Very busy, obviously having said that the staff are very attentive and friendly. There’s a big team and they’re all running around delivering food and drinks and collecting empty glasses. Never a long wait at the bar. The prices are higher than the average Wetherspoons, but I suppose that’s the airport premium.
Considering this is just a bog standard spoons. The prices they charge are extortionate. £15 for fish and chips which to be honest wasn't that great. Along with the fact I had to queue up for nearly half an hour to get a table, then another 15 minutes to be served at the bar. Needless to say the usual spoons offers grub n a drink were not available. Would definitely not visit here again.
Very average and won’t use again. Can’t even say good pub grub and although the service was prompt we paid enough money for a gourmet style pub meal but were given a very basic meal using average ingredients. Can say though the pint of Guinness was very good, hence the 3 star rating. Not sure they’ll try harder as they have a captive audience and no doubt raking it in.
