We visited Reads and had the dinner, room and breakfast package. The restaurant is in a beautiful location and has very scenic grounds. Our room was huge, immaculate in presentation and had lovely views of the grounds from the windows. There were no coffee/tea making facilities in the room and this was moved to a pantry down the hall that was communal for all guests. This was something to do with Covid regulations rather than having them individually in the room. Tea and coffee are free, everything else had a charge. It would have been preferable to have this in the room as we are very early risers and didn't want to go and use the pantry and risk waking other guests making a hot drink. Our room was very impressive but my wife and I found the bed pretty firm and we didn't get a good night's sleep due to this. Staff were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. I was very impressed with the restaurant having a table for us that we could come down for dinner at any time between 6.30-8.30pm. The restaurant was beautifully presented and only four tables in the room we were seated. This meant you didn't feel on top of the other guests and a really nice touch. The food was excellent - very well cooked and presented. There was nothing we didn't finish and we enjoyed everything placed in front of us. The portions were perfectly sized so by the end of the meal, my wife and I were completely full. The selection of wine was also very impressive and caters for all tastes! We never felt rushed or pressured, everything was taken at our pace - another massive positive. A genuine customer focus! Breakfast was either fruit, cereal or cooked. There was also toast, patisseries and a selection of homemade lemon curd, honey and jam. The cooked breakfast was perfect. I would highly recommend this venue and restaurant for that special celebration.
First visit and won’t be the last, we had the lunch taster menu and it was outstanding, highlights for me where the halibut and lobster bisque, my husband loved the soufflé! Service was impeccable thanks to the lovely Danni hope the spelling is correct.. The setting and ambiance are wonderful and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again - well done for bringing back our much needed enthusiasm for good food served at a high standard
A very special place. The most amazing food. Lovely dining experience for any special occasion. Love the pre-drinks and canopies in the lounge before dinner. Made to feel welcome and felt very comfortable in the formal dining rooms.Food: 5/5
Didn't go because their vegetarian menu is unsure until the day. And they won't tell you what is on menu unless you make a booking. So pointless if you make a booking for a week's time when they don't know what they can offer. Sample menus were shown but full of pickles and sweet and sour
The very best restaurant with excellent and thoughtful service. The food is delightful as is the manor itself. Lovely and traditional.Recommended dishesConfit Chicken Terrine, Coffee and Sweet Treats, Strawberry Souffle, Fillet of Salmon, Chalk Stream Trout Fishcake, Duck Confit

Wonderful dining experience, knowledgeable and professional staff, great food, lovely calm unrushed atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: I have a mustard allergy, they adapted my lamb to avoid mustard and made further checks so I avoided the cheese soufflé. Very well and professionally dealt with.
Lovely lunch, will definitely visit again the only problem was that it was cold sitting near the window.Food: 5/5
A most excellent meal, location, service all most certainly worth 5 stars.Food: 5/5
