Such a great place to explore! Ample parking, and a big playground for the wee ones; park has loads of paved trails for pushing prams or just strolling about. Head to the right to explore the castle ruins, and be sure to walk the beach which is filled with old turrets and sections of stone wall. Fantastic rocks for collecting along the shore, too! Follow the path away from the castle to the colorful, immensely photogenic harbor of Dysart. A stellar day out for all ages and abilities!
It's a great step back in time. Amazing unobstructed views and open to all. Walk from the beach following the path or storm the castle up the embankment. Great fun.
Clearly marked signs to it from main road and within Ravenscraig park. Wooden bridge over what may have been a moat to access. Not a huge place and only able to go through to site of out buildings at the cliff top. No access up to any floors. Free, open public access. Beaches either side at bottom of cliff
Ruins of castle, there is access through but most inner areas have been gated. There is access to the beach below from walking down from the land ward entrance and below the eastern side of the castle. There are signs around giving information on the history of the castle.
Nice view and close to the beach. Beautiful place for visited.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Bit difficult to get to. But what a sight. Even from the beach the veiws feel like scenes from a ghostly period drama.Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
Nice park with free parking. Its a shame that the castle had been allowed to deteriorate to such an extent.
This is a great place to visit on a tour of the area or a castle tour. However at present it is closed. It is also a little difficult to get round to from the park. I'd suggest only serious site seeing visitors. Veiws from the beach are just as awesome.
Our friends live very close to this castle. It is in a very nice location and I wish we could have spent more time here. Leah and I enjoyed climbing around some of the ruins as well as walking around the park that is right next to it. Friends of ours had her Wedding pictures taken here, very cool pictures indeed!
Beautiful view. Not crowded, trail down to the beach a bit treacherous especially on a misty day. Would love to have explored inside the ruins but understand why we couldnt. Must have been beautiful back in its time.
