Lovely family run business. The food from the coffee shop is always fresh, hot and well presented, would definitely recommend to try the breakfast. Staff are always friendly and nothing is too much for them. I have been ordering cakes from Ravens years and they always provide top quality products. Their high standards didn’t drop at all during what must have been a tough period during lockdown. Well done Ravens

Absolutely superb bakery they have really worked hard to keep going even through lockdown by converting to home delivery overnight as to not let there customers down. The best bread ever with the tastiest cakes. Coffee shop area is a pleasant area to sit in as well as there outside seating. Keep up the hard work Ravens

Brilliant family run business. Staff are always lovely and courteous. Have bought many birthday drip cakes in the past and will continue to do so in the future as they have always been spot-on in looks and taste. My personal favourites are their Cherry Pie and Cherry Crumble, they are absolutely amazing. Wouldn’t use any other bakery as Ravens would be very hard to beat.

I have nothing but good things to say about Ravens … their cakes are not only delicious but always made to absolute perfection. My children are always blown away by their birthday cakes, I wouldn’t use anyone else! Not only are their cakes out of this world but all of their food in house is just as incredible, the staff are helpful, polite and friendly and nothing is ever too much to ask of them. I have been a customer for many years and highly recommend this lovely family run business

I have tried this local bakery several times & unfortunately 8/10 times, it disappoints. Such a shame because one of the ladies who works there, potentially the owner, is an absolute gem; however, the rest of the staff are generally very rude and very slow. As a veggie, I've been given a chicken pasty, when asked for a cheese; when I returned this & asked for the correct food, I was greeted with a "well I definitely gave you the cheese one, so you must have stolen it" - please tell me why or how I would steal a pasty in a crowded cafe/bakery that I can't eat just to return it and ask for a replacement? Not to mention the whole bakery who saw me pay. More recently, my sister and I decided to give it another chance. My sister is allergic to dairy & asked for a soya mocha; the waitress returned with a cows milk drink in a dirty cup and said 'we don't have soya anymore, so you'll have to have this"; after this, I was given the total wrong food order, when I asked the waitress about this she replied with "well I put it on the ticket, so its not my problem? we cant remake this for you anymore anyway because we're not doing hot food anymore". Literally such a shame about the quality of staff and the lack of attention as it has so much potential and the cakes are lovely. I think we are finally throwing in the towel.

I have tried every type of loaf. The bread is decidedly average no different to mass produced supermarket stuff. It lacks body, when you butter it goes flat. If you put in the toaster even when fresh the sourdough takes a minute less than other sourdough's which normally take longer to toast. Claiming to be Artisan is a bit of stretch. Could do better.

We absolutely adore Ravens bakery, this place has been an absolute joy throughout the pandemic. Danielle has helped with the collection of lockdown birthday cakes and every week the staff in the shop are helpful when we chose our bread and cakes. I travel from Chelmsford as there is nowhere else that compares
