Went with my daughter and we had a great evening. We were greeted at the door and had a seat in the lounge area. Our drinks arrived and we were offered a trio of sharing dips which were delicious. We ordered our food and were shown to our table. For starters we shared Agra Onion Bhajia and the Daja Chana Chaat. Delicious. We ordered the Nawabi Lamb Passanda and the Adoori Chicken Korma with House Pilau and Naan bread. The flavours were fantastic and the meat so tender. If your in Newcastle or Gateshead you must visit Raval. First class food and service. Highly recommended. Parking: There free parking outside after 5.30pm for 3 hours. There's a car park opposite which I believe is free after 6pm
First time visiting as recommended by family and I wasn't disappointed. Staff lovely and friendly from the moment we walked through the door. Lovely decor. The food was absolutely fantastic and I loved every mouthful, pickle tray was incredible, not your normal Indian style, mango chutney, lime pickle and watery Cucumber dip. Cannot recommended this place enough. Most definitely a hidden gem and well worth a visit. Will definitely be returning very soon.
A great brasserie and bar, close to the Glasshouse International Centre for Music better known by its previous name, Sage Gateshead, and the Hilton Gateshead. Food is good, as is the service. In terms of atmosphere, the brasserie would benefit from a more Indian vibe. The current interior style, along with the background music, suggests more of an English eatery that serves Indian food.
Amazing dining. A beautiful restaurant with excellent service. The fish curry was amazing, fish bites perfect, lamb tender. Restaurant week menu well worth the money.Food: 5/5
Booked this restaurant after Googling wheelchair friendly places in Gateshead. Could not recommend enough. Emailed ahead to say we had a wheelchair and we were greeted by the friendly team with the door held open, a spacious table on the ground floor ready for us, and signposted to where the disabled toilets were. They took our wet coats to hang, and put us at ease straight away. They even checked which cutlery we’d prefer so my mam could eat easier. Staff checked in on us and food was delicious, and came quickly. It’s not always a pleasant experience eating out when you have a parent in a wheelchair who needs support to eat, but this place made the experience a dream. Will definitely come back next time we eat out. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor seating available. No stairs. Spacious with plenty of room for access. Accessible toilet. Friendly and helpful staff.
We went as a family for my birthday. Food was fabulous, great portion size too. We had lots of the small plates as wanted to share and try lots of different things. I had the lobster and mango, gorgeous. The scallops were on a lovely puree base. They were cooked to perfection. Massive battered prawns, also three fish fillets that were so tender they just fell to bits in your mouth. There were 3 flattish sort of onion barjis as a starter, even the rice was lovely. One of the party had the £15.95 special which is served early evening and really enjoyed it. Even the dips are made in house, eaten with poppadoms they were all different, and my favorite was the sweet chilli pineapple. Also I don't like a lot of chilli so they toned it down in my food so it was there to taste but delicate. Not cheap but excellent quality and we will be back. Even the wine wasn't too bad a price. Staff and manager very helpful and friendly, great for advice. I think they also do takeout and a couple of delivery drivers called in to collect while we were eating. Parking: Outside restaurant and further away down hill. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly, high chairs available. However no changing table.
I can not emphasize enough how great this Indian restaurant is! The owner greeted very early on and was genuinely interested about you. Staff was exceptional and always checking in how the food, drinks, etc… were going. But the best part was by far the food. Got the Tikka Masala and it was the most flavorful I have ever had. The Nan was very light and airy as well. Dessert was amazing. Can not recommend this place enough.
I found the food to be authentic, and could even beat some of the really good restaurants back in India as well. The blend of spices with the meat and bread is heavenly! If I happen to go back to Newcastle, visit to Raval is a given!Food: 5/5
We came for a meal prior to a Lulu concert. The restaurant is very handy for the Glasshouse. We were greated and had a champagne while ordering our excellent meal. Great service, friendly staff and an excellent meal I'm sure we'll be back
Man this place has top tier Indian food. From the lamb to the chicken everything is delicious. Not to mention, the service is outstanding. The owner and all the workers greet and treat you like family once you enter. I’ll be back anytime I’m in Newcastle
