An interesting place, but honestly it doesn't look like a castle. Anyway I loved that park. Great formal playground and informal playareas in the woodlands. Ducks to feed and sometimes squirrels. Lovely day out in the small park and playground. The man at reception tour guidefor the castle was very helpful and kind. There were 2 free exhibitions on. We ordered breakfast, but they weren't doing breakfast, so we ordered eggs and toast, no again. They only had what was on display. We left. The three stars are for the grounds and play area. Small but well kept.
Rathfarnham castle is a superb amenity. The playground is excellent and very well maintained ime. There are walks around the grounds, a lovely small forested area, duck pond, grass spaces ideal for picnics and the excellent Castle tea rooms Brambles cafe Parking is paid and ticketed, but very reasonable.
