I can't believe that this was the first time I'd been to Ramsgate Music Hall. My friend and his Hawkwind covers band had a their first gig that same night. The RMH reminds me of the Dublin Castle, an intimate sized venue in London, Camden. The sound, the space, and the atmosphere are all pleasantly compact. It must be something to do with the acoustics or lack of in these venues. When the music plays, you can hear every instrument and it never gets overwhelming like in some larger venues, they tend to have too much natural reverb which can muddy the sound and vibe. Also, in the main bar, situated above the gig space, has a big screen, showing the band throughout the evening great idea. I now follow Ramsgate Music Hall on social media, ready to head over to see new and upcoming artists.
Such a great venue! Small and intimate, visibility is great. The bar is lovely, and has a screen where you can watch the bands no missing out if you want a drink!. A must-visit, with some really well-known acts playing.
Lovely gig venue. Small but perfectly formed live room with excellent sound and good visibility. Bar staff v. friendly, bar has a real pinball machine, a good selection of drinks for a very small venue, a video feed from the live room and a flashing light to remind you when a band is about to go on.nnParking is available for free after 7pm in nearby streets or there's a massive car park outside.nnLooking forward to going back.
This is a brilliant small venue with a great atmosphere and an interesting selection of events. One of the few venues which reminds people not to chat during artist's performances. I only more would follow suit! Good bar to chat in, with a live video link to the main room. Very friendly staff. A rare gem worth supporting!
Fab venue. First time here. Easy parking outside. Great bar and staff. Sound was fab too. V friendly so highly recommend. Enjoy.
