Doing this review in advance, but don't get me wrong we're here and we like and enjoy what we see. B&B's located in a scenic part of Peak District in the 12th century village. Plenty of beautiful buildings around and there's a stream nearby. The room is absolutely lovely, clean and well lit, so the bathroom. There's a little table top fridge, kettle and things you may need during your stay. We didn't meet the owners but they sounded friendly Ohhh the Sun just popped out, off we go for exploring then. Forgot to mention the car park which is located just opposite the building. Rooms: Well lit, spacious and feels like home.
They were closed,& wouldn't let us park in the space across the road where there were no cars so no I wouldn't go again though we have been before for food & coffee it was just basic
Super friendly hosts, who went the extra mile. Room 4 small but lovely, with a big bath and handy fridge. Location perfectly central with parking opposite.Hotel highlightsRomantic, Quiet
Robbie and Claire owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. They made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable. Great location in the village next to lots of pubs and restaurants! Fantastic value for money and the breakfast was generously sized and very tasty! Our room was very clean and the shower was great temperature and power. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the peak district!
I have a voucher bought for visitors coming from Australia. Due to the pandemic they were unable to come. The voucher due to the pandemic is out of date. I am expecting my Australian visitors next week. I contacted Ramblers Rest, explaining why the voucher was 2 half year's out of date. I don't think I would have been able to use it myself due to restrictions with the pandemic. I was told "No" it will not be honoured. I've stayed at this place before and so have friends of mine. I am most surprised that they wasn't even willing to discuss it. I have had other such vouchers and they are being honoured. I'm extremely disappointed and expected more from Robbie.
Absolutely delightful B&B. The owners where warm and welcoming. We didn't use the car during our two day stay as there are so many attractions, pubs and cafes within walking distance. Would highly recommend staying here.
We were passing visitors after a long walk over the Mam Tor area. It's a small but cosy little stop, and one our children have begged us to go back to one day. The cakes were delicious and the coffee is one of the best I've had. Service was excellent and prices are reasonable. If we are in the area again we will definitely be returning.
We had a fantastic stay at Ramblers Rest in Castleton for 3 days. Location: The AirBnB is a 2-minute walk from the post office, bakery, an Italian restaurant and 7 different pubs. Local walks: There are many local walks from the AirBnB throughout the Hope Valley, with Mam Tor and Winnats Pass being a short walk away. Food and Drink: For breakfast/ lunch, we had the most amazing egg and rolls from Peveril Stores and Claire provided us with milk + other breakfast essentials in our room. We ate out in the evenings and recommend The George, The Bull and The Castle pubs. Parking: We had our own parking space for the duration of our stay right next to the AirBnB. Communication: Claire was an excellent host, very friendly, welcoming, and it was nice to meet her and her family. She was quick to respond and answered all our questions. We look forward to staying again at Ramblers Rest on our next visit. Had a lovely cream tea here very reasonably priced for such a lovely and large scone. Also I was able to have a Mocha with mine at no extra charge. The inside is cosey but comfortable and the outside is lovely on a nice day. Great for a quick note to eat and refreshments.
Awesome place to stay! Lovely people that couldn't be more welcoming. Helped with questions on local walks and places and recommended some of the best eating places locally. Love the rooms and the surroundings, this is me and my partners second visit here in 6 months and we are still loving the service and place. Car parking space and now they have an awesome cafe with the yummiest food and coffee and Ben & Jerrys ice cream. What more could you ask for!!!! Would recommend anyone to stay at Ramblers Rest!
