Place has a lot of potential but doesn't live up to it. Rooms are spacious and well priced but lots of little touches missed like no tissue boxes or water in the rooms. Kettle oddly placed not near a switch. Laminate flooring and no rugs or carpet. Only one key for the room. That kind of stuff despite the beds being comfortable and the rooms well decorated. No radiator in the bathroom either which isn't great for a hotel in the UK given we put up with 10 months of winter here effectively. Sound can also be easily heard from the corridors.nnThe staff are very pleasant and accommodating however. Asked for extra toilet rolls on check-in form and they were there in the rooms and the mattress was firm as requested although I don't know if that was placed specifically for me or just happened to be that way but it was a pleasant surprise. No trouble at all.nnThe breakfast was very decent with generous portions and check-in and check-out was super fast and efficient.nnI suspect the place doesn't have the funds for more investment. Not a very touristy area so probably doesn't get the footfall it needs to generate the revenue for more investment perhaps?
It’s a stunning building with plenty of history on entry u get a friendly welcome the dinning room is very up market the meals are all top stuff the staff are friendly wen leaving all the light down the drive and the blue light on the old tree is fantastic with a visit any time
Lovely hidden gem this. Mainly reviewing the chapel function room. Very stylish and modernised old chapel style building. We have DJ’d several events here and it’s always been a real pleasure.
I have photographed a few weddings at this venue and everytime it has been fantastic. The secret gardens and grounds as a whole provide the perfect space. The wedding venue as a whole is great and the staff always seem really attentive and helpful. Looking forward to being back there in the future!
PACK YOUR EARPLUGSnnWe booked for a two night stay at Rainhill Hall. The location is wonderful. The building is surrounded by beautiful woodland - perfect for walks!nThe staff were all so friendly and welcoming. A lovely team of people.nBreakfast was delicious and the cocktails were made to perfection. The jet bath in the bathroom was great fun and we treated ourselves to a few hot bubbly baths.nnThe downsides were that the place really needs some TLC. The renovation looks cheaply thrown together and the place is starting to look very worn out and rundown. The room was freezing on arrival with only a small electrical heater to warm it up. No central heating anywhere. The smell of mould was quite strong in the bathroom.nThe mattress was mega soft and after the second night we both had backache. Pillows again were soft cheap ones.nThe biggest downside was how thin the walls and ceilings are. Our neighbours would be horrified to know that we could EVERYTHING… from them leaving and returning to the room, going to the toilet, flushing the loo, plugging in devices, walking, talking…and bedroom antics ‍ … being a light sleeper, I usually pack ear plugs but forgot them on this occasion. My partner sleeps like the dead and even he kept being disturbed by our neighbours.nnThe place needs investing in with proper quality renovations.
