This is now a regular part of my commute. Always friendly, helpful, cheerful staff in the ticket office. Access to the platforms step-free involves a 200-yard stroll around local roads. Usually clean. Plans Aug2019 to introduce car park charging are awaiting a firm implementation date.
Other then a bit more signage for which platform goes where, to make it a bit more clear, an ok station. Trains are usually on time or not to late and a great place to get to Crewe or Liverpool. A fair amount of parking and does have a bus route. A way out on either side of the platform. Indoor seating with a ticket collection machine.
You require a key to use the toilets, which is only available when staff are on duty. 7-12 weekdays and 7-3 weekends. Main waiting area has a heater, but other platform does not. Very basic but there's not much reason to hang around unless you're late and have to get next train.
Good for getting to Liverpool, and to Crewe and Birmingham I'm sure. Could do with a bit of a revamp though.
Whistle stop but all seemed nice.
The only problem in the week is parking a lot seem to drive to the station and leave their cars the car park is always full
