It's convenient for anyone staying at the Clifton Inn hotel. Service could be better, just a little more communication between staff. The food was just good, I would recommend the smashed avocado which was easily the best thing I ate whilst staying there.
This is a decent bar and restaurant with great staff. People were really friendly and very accommodating 4 adults and 4 children. Our food didn't take long after ordering and everything was delicious. Parking can be a little difficult but that is Clifton unfortunately. We will come back again for sure.
It was very convenient to the Clifton hotel where I was staying. It has both outdoor and indoor seating. I went for brunch and ordered the Eggs Benedict and toast. It was ok. The eggs were poached well and hollandaise was too thick and not enough of it on the eggs for my preference so to me it was a bit dry but it tasted fine. Service was very friendly and they were happy to help with anything you needed.
The shepherd pie and steak sandwich was excellent as they were tasty and flavourful! The dish portion was decent and presented in a nice way.
Henry and Freya were super friendly, attentive and gave great service! Henry checked on a few things we asked in relation to the vegan options and overall made the experience lovely! Vegetarian options: I had the vegan options on the Mother’s Day 3 course menu, all the food was delicious!
A nice pub with plenty of outdoor space. They have many big tables so you can easily arrange for a larger group. The staff is super fun and kind - you can have a nice chat and agood laugh while ordering. It is a nice place for a drink. The food is quite good, but as to my taste it could be improved. They have a variety of options so easily can something you like.
Before I start please excuse the terrible quality of the photos...temporary phone in use. So..it's hard to believe the bar is anything associated with the Clifton Hotel, the hotel itself is pretty grim in all honesty, especially for the location. It's in desperate need of remodelling, the staff are great in all fairness, but due to the location and the photos online I was expecting more...although I didn't make the booking so unsure of the room rates. But to Racks Bar itself ..huge underground venue situated underneath the hotel brilliant chilled Sunday atmosphere, some really pleasant staff , especially Reave who mainly waited on us, making me feel right at home instantly. I went for the Racks Burger as was feeling pretty delicate from the night before and it hit the spot perfectly ... a huge amount of perfectly cooked beef, and surprisingly without the addition of cheese was 10 /10. Quite a nice varied menu which I wouldn't mind going through on my return to Bristol. All together I think this bar is great and would love to visit again on a busy night to see how the atmosphere plans out say on a Friday or Saturday evening . I can safely say I'll be regularly returning whenever I'm in my second home city. Thanks guys
We had great service at Racks, went in for a coffee, then booked breakfast which was excellent, then booked for Sunday Lunch. Nothing was too much trouble for Bob, Rachael looked after us at the table extremely well!
Great food and nice environment. A little pricy for drinks... But that's fine for treats!
Came here last week for works Christmas meal. Excellent welcome from Jason firstly, we had never been before and he was very helpful, showing us to our table and where we could find everything else. Henry was also very accommodating to our table throughout the whole night, he was friendly and informative and made everyone at the table feel catered for. The food was incredible, and I highly recommend the feathered beef. It was delicious and tasty. We had a couple of gluten free dietary requirements in our table and the food was of the same great standard for these meals. The bar staff were also very helpful, thankyou to Mia, Meg and Bob for a great service. Would definitely recommend : Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and veggie options available!
