Everything was remarkable!! Each plate of food was spot on, with beautiful plate settings, a unique combination of flavors, and extremely tasty food. To start I had the soup of the day, which though I can't remember what ingredients were in it, it was so tasty, I cleaned the bowl with the bread on the table to get every last drop. For dinner I chose the duck leg confit, which had honestly cooked the best that I've had in a long time. It was perfectly crispy on the outside with a tender and juicy inside. I was absolutely delighted with the appetizer and main dish! For dessert I tried the rhubarb mille feuille with pistachio ice cream. This was a delectable set of flavors, but the I side of the pastry kept oozing out the sides when trying to cut a bite. Once you got everything on the fork, it was a delight! Service was spectacular!! The only thing I didn't much care for was the ichi-go ichi-e cocktail. While the presentation for the drink was spectacular with a spoonful of gold to sprinkle in it, the drink itself was too spicy and tangy, which pair too well with the matcha. If they tone down the lime and ginger, it would probably be a smoother experience. Fantastic restaurant! I absolutely loved this place!!
Great atmosphere, the price is just right for the meals...dinner was very tasteful, the meat was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend trying the Lamb. Service was great from the staffs. We had our starters right away but we had to wait a long time to get our main course due to a big 'Birthday party' table that was ahead of us. Was generous of the staff to update us.
I really can't give this high enough praise. Service and waiting staff were very good even down to being able to describe how particular starters were prepared. Price reasonable for the quality delivered. Most importantly the food was excellent particularly the heart breaking delicious chocolate fondant dessert. The soundtrack and decor created a vibrant atmosphere. Loved the giant fork and the camera wall.
Visited the bar here for a fabulously tasty cocktail & dessert when it first opened. The experience was great, very cool atmosphere, gorgeous bar & friendly staff. I was served an unforgettable Japanese inspired cocktail by Cian who was very professional & really brought their menu to life. My dessert left me eager to taste the rest of the menu, can't wait to return!
Excellent spot to get away form typical pub food. The meal was greatly enjoyed in company of friends. Superb ambiance and decor, food was really good and the service was quite good.
My husband and I stumbled across this place and decided to see if they had any tables open for dinner. Staff was very friendly and I loved the decor. The food was delicious although I felt the fish was overpriced wouldn't order that again. I would come back next time we're in Cork. Great for a date night or girls night out.
Had amazing seafood chowder for a starter and then Steak and Chips. The Chowder was AMAZING. Would go back just for that. Steak was OK.
Good early bird value and wine list. Food was excellent as expected. Will go back.
Food good but overpriced. Service poor. Went for my birthday as a treat. Got wine list only had to ask for other drinks menu. Menu didn't list allergens. Waitress assumed my husband would want a beer and I wouldn't which was mildly offensive. Had to ask for our dinner plates to be cleared and dessert menus after waiting nearly a half hour. Had to ask twice for my husband's drink to come out and then we were billed for two. Have had way better quality food and service for half the price. Not impressed.
Quite nice. While it's great to see a new business open, we got the feeling Rachel's was a little rushed. maybe the PR and marketing machines put the cart before the horse. The ambience is cool, although the layout is compact. Menu is lightly Mediterranean inspired, with 'local' produce packing the pages. I'm sure we should come to expect this from restaurants, and not find ourselves constantly amazed by the fact all fish is fresh, and all lamb local! Service was timely and efficient, but if holes were to be picked, then yes, it could have been more efficient. Teething problems perhaps, and it certainly didn't take from our evening. Lamb was delicious and tender. I did mention how I'd prefer it to be cooked, and I received a nod and a smile indicating my choice was met with approval. The chef thought differently, but again nothing major. Fries were pretty tasty, although it's mashed potato for me next time, as it looked simply delicious. No question, we'll be back. You can see the dream, the wish, the ethos put into practice. Like all concepts it's the execution of same that needs to be on point.
