Twelve of us stayed for one night.   Great pub with 3 hand pumps.  Wonderful food at dinner and breakfast.  Very comfortable bed rooms with huge bed and good bathroom. Highest standard of cleanliness throughout.  Best of all.... the staff.  It's a family run pub and nothing is too much trouble for them.  This pub is on my list to do return visit.

I ate here this evening with my family after visiting Fountains Abbey. The food was absolutely fantastic. I eat out a lot, and this was ‘next level’. It’s a lovely pub in a nice little village, very quiet and scenic. There are EV charging points, excellent parking and the service was just as good as the food. I couldn’t recommend this enough, and I will  be returning at some point.

The only downside was accessibility, if you parked in the good sized car park there was no rear access for people with mobility issues. We parked on the road side to the front which bearing in mind it's a country pub was a bit iffy. The lady who served us was very hospitable and the food was lovely, so after all said we would return but only if there happened to be a place outside the front.  Food & drinks: The food was lovely, we just had sandwiches but they were delicious. Other food that was brought out whilst we were there also looked delicious.

Great food, Sunday lunch was excellent  leeks and carrots delicious Lovely welcome, would definitely recommend, staff and Landlady Lou were very helpful. Good choice on the menu and special board. Great choice of local beers, Old Peculiar went down too well

The start of a bonding work trip started with lunch here. Service was amazing as was the food. Have the mixed grill ONLY if you haven't eaten for a week Service: 5/5

This was a really friendly local pub near Harrogate that we stopped at on the way north. They couldn't have done more to make you feel welcome and the menu looked excellent. Sadly it was a Wednesday night and we arrived after the kitchen closed 8pm otherwise it would have been an excellent place to have eaten. The breakfast was excellent, one of the best cooked breakfasts I've had and set us up well for the day. Would return again.

I loved it here. Great base for anywhere around the dales. Food was really nice. Good Yorkshire food.Rooms: 5/5

Update: Still great, when we came back a year later.  Excellent food with good sized portions and the staff were engaging & friendly. And the Full English was tip-top and the best I've had in ages! The rooms were well kept & provided with tea & biscuits.  The only downside was that our room was too hot after a hot day in early Sept and the windows were screwed shut so we couldn't air it.

Had a wonderful 29th wedding anniversary meal on Monday night at the Queens Head.  Service was lovely and meals super prompt.  All the meals were amazing with generous portions and delicious flavours.  PS, the beer was fab too
