"The Queen's Head is a stunning 16th century listed freehouse which was fully refurbished in 2016. Located just 7 miles from Southwold and Walberswick and a mile south of Halesworth, this country pub sits in an enviable location, right next door to St Andrew's Church in Bramfield - the only church in Suffolk with a separate round bell tower. We're open every day and serve fresh, tasty food for dining in and takeaway Wednesday to Sundays. We're dog and family friendly, and we've a love for great local real ales, a huge gin selection, open fireplaces and a beautiful restaurant called the Snug, which is available for private hires and small intimate country style weddings."

WOW! My husband at d I recently visited The Queen’s Head with our family and our little dog. We were absolutely blown away by how all-round amazing this place was. All of the staff we came across were genuinely friendly, polite and helpful. We also got to speak to the owners, Kate and Kev, too who were absolutely lovely and it was clear to see that they uphold an incredibly high level of customer service. It was also obvious that they are very passionate about what they do and ensuring that their patrons have the best experience possible. We find it very difficult to find somewhere to eat which ticks both of our boxes, one being that they allow dogs and the other being that they serve vegan food. Normally, when we find somewhere which ticks both of these boxes, one of them is rather lacking, that was absolutely not the case here and they were exceptionally good. Our dog was fussed by the staff and was immediately brought a bowl of water, which was much appreciated as it was a hot day. The vegan food was outstanding, we really were incredibly impressed and delighted that they not only had a great range of options on their menu, but the food was absolutely delicious! We had the sharing vegan deli board and it was amazing. We have been to solely-vegan restaurants whose food hasn’t been as good as this. There was even a vegan crumble for dessert too which again was brilliant! Our family had non-vegan meals which were also were very popular and plates were completely cleaned! I honestly would give The Queen’s Head ten stars if I could! The decor was lovely as well, incredibly clean and also modern with a homely touch. Sometimes other pubs can be very dingy and with decades-old decor but this was nothing like that, it was meticulously decorated and clearly a lot of thought had gone into creating a relaxing, welcoming space for people to dine. Overall, everything about The Queen’s Head was fantastic, we were so impressed and absolutely will be returning soon. Thank you very much Kev and Kate for helping us discover our new favourite restaurant!
Lovely pub, decor is spot on, service was also A+, my kids were a little unruly and kept accidentally knocking the cutlery off the table, literally before it would hit the ground the waiter was next to us with a fresh one, couldn't fault him at all. The food was good although the pork sounded better on the menu then how it was produced, is was nice, just not how I imagined it or how I would have done it yes I'm a chef amongst other things so I can have such opinions, but I haven't removed a star for this because I can appreciate the effort, plus the quality and presentation are still very good, they deserve the 5 stars I have given. Lovely local beer, I had the golden ale, it was very nice and my wife had an excellent red. Kids options are also very thoughtful. I would definitely go back.
Car park in front of premises. A pleasant surprise awaits when entering the restaurant area in respect of the building's design. Huge wood burning stove in massive brick built fireplace. Good choice of food and drink. Website reveals many catering and best pub awards. This, for us, was evidenced by the quality and presentation of the dishes. Very friendly staff. Clean toilets. Pub garden sits below the village church. Do not be put off by this, as the church itself is provides an interesting background with round church tower is separate from the church.
Lovely Sunday lunch at the Queen's Head while having a weekend away in the area. The food was great, the staff friendly and welcoming and all set in nicely decorated restaurant.
Their summer 2022 menu was rather limited, thankfully there was some extra daily specials to choose from. The main meals and desserts were enjoyable, although for the high price versus the size, it looked like they had been created by an accountants spreadsheet, cutlery was poor quality.
Wow what a amazing find! From start to finish a brilliant experience. The pub sits in a beautiful little village we got parked up easily and upon entry we were greeted and seated straight away. The place is recently decorated and has a beautiful brick fire place. There is a tiered garden with views of an amazing thatched church. Good selection of beers and lagers. We had a Sunday roast which were brilliant. We were even able to "borrow" some kindling as we had ran out at the rented cottage. Lastly huge thanks to the amazing staff who went above and beyond to make our visit a memorable one!
Stopped after a walk for early dinner. There was a beer festival with live music which was a bonus. Excellent performers. Enjoyed listening while we ate. Service was very good. Very pleasant staff. Menu was quite limited. A little more choice would be nice. The pub has several future events which look interesting.
The three of us had Sunday lunch today, two had lamb and one beef, with apple and fruit crumble to follow. The whole meal was outstanding, and the service and friendliness of all the staff would be be difficult on which to improve. The seating area in the pub was carefully cleaned as new guests arrived so we were confident that the pub was well looked after.
Absolutely gorgeous setting. The garden is to die for and I’m a keen gardener, so really appreciated the beautiful surroundings. Food was fantastic and was made to feel really welcome. Our waitress was warm and friendly and made the kids feel at ease. The sweet potato wedges are a must try! Mouth wateringly good! This place is a little Suffolk gem.
We have been fortunate to visit twice this week, we thought the food was really nice my husband choose from the specials board, King prawn linguine which was very tasty I had the fish and chips which were really good quality the fish was fresh and the tartare sauce was the nicest I have tasted. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The range of bears from different breweries a real bonus. We thought we would go back Sunday for a roast and was not disappointed between us we had the beef, lamb and pork no complaints all very nice, I had the beef it was so tender, the veg was cooked to our taste and the gravy was delicious. My husband was delighted with the trio of deserts. Highly recommend a visit to the establishment, we will certainly be back.
