I've had a lot of dental work - it only takes one ski in a mouth!
Over 40+ years there have been two outstanding dentists - one in La Jolla, California (a lady who's now retired) and the other is Alfonso.
100% recommended.
Quick update (April '18): I'd also add Emily the (new to me) dental hygienist - exceptionally skilled.
There are many things in life where second best is good enough... not dentistry - pay for excellence every time!

I was made to feel so welcome it was as if I'd known these beautiful people for years.
  Their kind, warm and very calm welcome seems to rub off on you making you feel at ease and not at all nervous .
   Probably the best dental clinic in the country. I would highly recommend it to anyone

Few day ago I had my first appointment with Dr. Alfonso Rao, with who I had the new patient full examination. I can't stress enough how pleased I was with this service. Dr Rao was extremely precise carrying out the check and the analysis and even more detailed when explaining me the issues and related options/solutions. 
The staff was really welcoming and attentive, which is definitively an added value! 
Overall, I was so pleased with the service that I have booked 3 more appointments and I look forward to start my journey in this Clinic to get my perfect smile :)

Not the cheapest dental practice in town but one of the best. Very torough examination, the dentist does explain everything and what's going on with your dental health. He showed me that the previous dentist botched the job on one of my root canal. Honest feedback on my dental health and comes highly recommended by a dental nurse that used to cover sickies in this practice. As well they picked-up that I was grinding my teeth at night  and offered a treatment for it while my former dentist only suspected it and didn't bother offering a treatment for it... You get what you pay for.

All of the staff are welcoming and friendly, all advice and treatment has been concise and efficient. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a new dentist in Bristol.
