If I could leave 10 stars - I would. My wife and I are travelling Scotland for our 25th wedding anniversary, and are staying over night in Loch Lammles at Queen of the Loch. We checked out the pub for a vegan burger for my wife. Mick the chef came out personally to talk with her and offered to make her a customer off the menu burger using their cauliflower wings as the burger. I will eat vegan and meat, I had a bite of my wife’s burger as I had the ultimate southern fried chicken burger. My wife won dinner, this burger Mick made was possibly she most delicious burgers vegan or not I ever tasted. Mick went above and beyond, he is an amazing person and chef, I cannot tell you how much it meant for him to care about people who eat the food he makes. This must become a menu item. That’s not the end, the young bartender with a tattoo of a camera and a cat on his forearm also went above and beyond. He helped give us directions to local shopping, and was the on to go bring Mick out, sadly I didn’t get his name. Lastly the manager with the beard and shaved head was incredible. I highly recommend anyone looking for a place to eat here go, and enjoy.
The Queen of the Loch was recommended to us. Unfortunately we were severely disappointed. While the rest of the food was ok, the House Salad was a total disappointment. We normally do not order a salad in a pub, but the description in the menu was so tempting that we tried it. What we got were some mixed and already very wrinkly leaves with a very dry chicken breast and bacon on it. No quinoa, brown rice, soy beans or fried onions and definitely no dressing. The waitress told us the other ingredients were out of stock and there was dressing on the salad mixed with the leaves although the leaves and the plate were visibly totally dry. She would bring us dome „extra“ dressing. All in all the salad was a disaster and definitely not worth the price. While it is ok that ingredients can go out of stock, the way the problem was dealt with was also a major part of our dissatisfaction. If we were just told that the salad is not possible in this way when we ordered we would definitely have found enough other options. Also, the visible lack of any kind of dressing should not be encountered with „it is in there“.
Very nice pub, good amount of parking and love that it's dog friendly, just wish more of the pub was dog friendly as we were sat eating our lunch around a load of people sat on bar stools just drinking which wasn't very inviting and there wasn't any salt/pepper on the tables. Carvery was okay, not the best I've had in terms of vegetables offered and the roast potatoes weren't very crispy. That being said, the carvery was a very good price. Would recommend if friends were in the area looking for somewhere convenient to go.
Breakfast was ok'ish, dinner was great. There are tables outside which is nice in case the weather is good. Felt a bit expensive overall.Food: 5/5
Great place to stay if you are in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, from the moment I checked through to I left. There is plenty of parking with several electric car charging points with very free being used while I was there. The room was nice and clean with plenty of space just remember to go to the restaurant to check in. In the restaurant there is plenty of selection on the main menu or you can choose a carvery. There are various different meal deals each night . I would definitely recommend staying here Parking: Loads of parking available at the restaurant and the bedroom section of the hotel Wheelchair accessibility: Dedicated disabled parking opposite the entrance
We ordered avocado on toast with bacon. Instead of mashed avocado as on the menu, the toast was served with a little smear of guacamole. I also found a hair in my toast while chewing... The walls and tables were covered with old food and splatters. We were not charged for the meal. See pictures.
Amazing marston’s Resteraunt and Pub, lush food at really good prices, beer is cheap too. There is also a hotel nextdoor. I cant offer e reviwe of this as I didnt use it, but it looks clean and looked after from the outside. Staff in the restaurant are amazing friendly and Helpful.
Arrived for our anniversary meal to be told our reservation might not be accommodated so we were sat on bar stools. Food came out and it was cold and wasn’t worth the money. Not sure we’ll be back or recommend to anyone. Been before and it was lovely so it’s gone downhill which is a shame. The lady who took us to our table wasn’t very friendly at all and we found her to be quite abrupt. However, the two lads behind the bar were friendly and accommodating
We were here for breakfast. Coffe like brown water, this has nothing to do with coffe. Ordered poached eggs on toast. What I got was poached eggs on toast. The most loveless breakfast I ever had. My wife's cooked breakfast was without any taste. All convenient products just served out of the can or other packing. Unbelievably bad experience.
Great hotel the rooms are lovely and clean beds nice and comfy the staff are really friendly and really nice people food is amazing would highly recommend this hotel to everyone we will be backFood: 5/5
