Outstanding Service and Accessibility! I recently had the opportunity to use this terminal, and I can confidently say it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. As someone who travels frequently, I've encountered various levels of service at different terminals, but this one truly stands out, especially when it comes to assisting disabled travelers. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They took the time to ensure that our group, including our disabled friends, was accommodated and helped us navigate the process smoothly. Their understanding of the unique needs of disabled travelers was impressive; they provided assistance with boarding, luggage, and even offered to answer any questions we had. It was evident that they genuinely care about making the experience comfortable for everyone. The efficiency with which we moved through the terminal was remarkable. Even during busy periods, the staff managed to keep things organized and expedited our passage, which is a huge relief when you're traveling with friends who may need extra time or support. I felt reassured knowing that we were in good hands, allowing us to focus on enjoying our trip rather than stressing about logistics. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this terminal to anyone planning to cruise, especially those traveling with disabled individuals. The combination of exceptional staff and a commitment to accessibility makes it a standout choice. I can’t wait to return for my next adventure—thank you to the team for making our journey such a positive one!
Oldest terminal at the Port, but it still provided quite a smooth embarkation process. Friendly staff and easily understood instructions within the terminal. We took the Queen Mary 2, heading to NYC with 6 people and a dog. We boarded the ship within an hour. Note: There was no place to take your dog to do its business once in the terminal, so walk them beforehand.
All I know of the port is that Princess staff made it seamless for us to board the Sky Princess. Having a Princess transfer from the May Fair Hotel to Southampton was really awesome. It may have taken us 2 hours, but we were in the relative comfort of the coach. We will be debarking in a couple of days, and it will be amazing to experience England for a day!
Took a mini-cruise from here to Zebrugge on P&O cruises. The ship was nice, but has seen a number of nautical miles. The food was excellent. As it was a mini cruise there was no drinks package and a drinks were at London prices. Ship wifi was expensive at £24 a day, unless you bought for the whole trip when it dropped to £18 a day. Lots of entertainment onboard from comedians, musical shows, visiting bands and musicians, couldn't get bored. When it was time to turn in, the bed were comfy and the pillow soft but that didn't stop us getting a good night's sleep. Service was prompt and no issues with any of the staff who went out of their way to help you have a good time. However, no professional photographer on board for the celebration evening, which was a shame.
I went on a mini cruise with p&o to Bruges from this port and it was fun to watch other ships sailing out of the port. Bruges was lovely, clean and old & quaint.
Traffic could be better organised. Poor UBER driver had to go a mile out of the way by request of terminal staff to relieve congestion, but there was no congestion at the time of our drop off
Long walk from main road, approximately 35mins so not easiest if you have large luggage to tail behind you. Taxi or drive in is matter of minutes. Pretty basic cruise terminal which is effectively a large warehouse for loading people/goods onto ship. Plenty of taxis and transport options accessible.
Fantastic organisation. Straight into the embarking area then not long till we was on the cruise liner
Oh boy noise noise noise. Starting our trip on QV we arrived at 12 to board. An efficient system allowing for our taxi to drop us witj strides of the arrivals. Our luggage whisked away by a porter into the loafing area and we were in. Swift friendky booking in fifteen minute seated wait until we were called to go through customs and board the ship. Great views from our balcony looking out over arrivals and coaches dropping off guests.
Not fit for purpose now with the capacity of the ships nowadays
