Was on ward 28 for a knee replacement . Staff were exemplary, The ward was very new and modern. Food was ok. One of the best experiences of Hospital I've ever had. Thank you lovely team you are all amazing caring people.
It's an easy n comprehensive hospital to get to wards n the staff n nurses are amazing n so caring. My Dad is seriously poorly n he's having 1 to 1 care n the staff can't do enough for him. He's very 'comfortable' in their care.
EMERGENCY!?!!??!! After waiting for 7 hours, we didn't see a doctor either. They don't take care of the patients. The patients lie on the chairs for hours. Many are very sick and the nurses don't take care of the patients waiting outside. Many patients are lying on the chairs or on the floor in their own vomit. Several patients immediately asks for help because the growths don't even look at them!!!! After 7 hours of waiting, we didn't get any pain relief. My son came to the nursing home with severe back and chest pain, you can hardly breathe. We arrived at the hospital at 9:00 in the evening and waited until 4:30 in the morning. I told him several times that he was not well, please give him pain relief. The receptionist said he had contacted a nurse on the phone and they would bring it to him. After an hour, I again said that the doctor was sick and needed pain relief. The receptionist again CONTACTED THE NURSE BY PHONE then a nurse came out 20 minutes later and gave him ibuprofen. I said we've been waiting for 7 hours, how long will it take for them to take care of it, ???? NURSE said it could even be plus 7 hours!!! The waiting room is dirty in several places and has not been cleaned for 7 hours. Disgusting rubble. People are being made to suffer. Anyone who can, AVOID THIS HOSPITAL!!!!
Oh my goodness what an amazing hospital. A huge, massive thank you to all staff on ward 26. Also Miss Ang, Mr Cassar and all of the surgery team. Mam is 82 years old and had major surgery, the care she received was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. As visitors we were welcomed every time we came onto the ward and will never be able to thank the staff on ward 26 sufficiently. Amazing xx
Staff at this hospital are all exemplary every time I visit for treatment. However, whoever in management rubber-stamped a fruit & vegetable stall taking up four much need parking spaces needs to sit in a corner and have a word with themselves. It's a hospital, not a farmer's market. Lost one of five stars.
Had a minor op at the Jubilee Wing and was well cared for. Plenty of information and no hassle. One suggestion for improvement - put someplace to hang your clothes, I had to arrange mine over the back of my chair - the only piece of non-medical furniture in the place.
On our short Holiday in Newcatsle , my father Heinz has felt bad and was confused. With the ambulance we were brought to QE Gateshead. For us from Germany it was a bad situation, but the staff at the hospital was brilliant. Many thanks to all in the Emergency department, at Ward 2 and Ward 26. You all were fantastic. We could return to Germany in time. Also from my father Heinz lovely regards.
I was taken to the Accident and emergency department last night as a result of my temperature spiking following chemotherapy for my esophageal cancer. I can't speak highly enough of the staff here. I was treatment rapidly with care and courtesy. The nurses and doctors here are doing an exceptional job. Thus needs to be recognised by the hospital and its management. The service I recieved fully respected the need to protect me from further infection and took care to ensure I was safely diagnosed and treated. An exceptional experience at a very difficult time. Thank you.
Went to A&E immediately on phone advice from 111 at 22:15 for a possible blood clot on lungs. Triaged and ECG taken by midnight. Then told there was a 11 eleven hour wait for treatment. Why were we not sent home, where we would have been better off, and asked to return early next morning? Instead we were spitefully made to wait for another 8 hours before Emergency Day Care was open. Sitting for 8 hours through the night on hard seats in a cold waiting room is not helpful to anybodies care or treatment. Should have been sent home, disgraceful. This lets down the staff who later provided first rate care and treatment and arranged subsequent follow up. Shame on you for punishing us for attending A&E at such a late hour.
The nicest A&E fast moving along and all staff at every step of the way so friendly and thorough. Usually going to an A&E we expect into be bad this was really so positive that u felt the need to come and review .
