Visited Mar 2023. Very pleasant and tasty meal. Waiter very friendly and efficient. Will return when next in Dundalk.
We had a very nice meal in this restaurant, the food was beautiful the service was as good as you will get in any restaurant, the staff were polite and very helpful, the cost was very reasonable and the restaurant it’s self was spotlessly clean. What more could you ask for?
Super authentic flavours, never disappoints.keep it up
Have dined in the Punjab House many times but have never had a takeaway before today. Delighted to report that the food and service were as fantastic as they always are. The starters were great, the lamb was delicious. Well done to the staff for keeping up very high standards at this difficult time. I am glad to see they’re being kept busy. We went in to restaurant to order, but most people seemed to be phoning in and then either having food brought to them in their car, or dropping in to collect. Will be back very soon!
Absolutely horrible food. Food was freezing cold. Absolutely disgusting!! Delivery driver said he was outside my house, then arrived 1 hour later, why hire drivers who don't know the local area???
Approiate number of covers - not sitting 'elbow to elbow' with other diners. Suitable lighting level - no dark corners. Pleasant traditional background music - doesn't prevent normal conversation. I found the staff well presented, extremely polite, attentive with pleasing table service and awareness regarding progress of meal. The menu, as expected, is within the usual range. My personal preference is for the milder choice of dishes from the menu. I was not disappointed, my food was delicious, prepared and cooked to perfection, served with ease and enjoyed in equal measure. I am unsure what exactly made the evening so enjoyable, any number of factors may have contributed. Perhaps I found the service, quality of food and overall ambiance a very welcome change. Also, the presence of senior family members working throughout the evening, may have contributed, there's much to be said for controlling the reigns of your own business as opposed to leaving things to chance. I would have no hesitation in booking again.
This restaurant is a disgrace. Every single time we order they get it wrong. Today I ordered popadoms, veg pattia and pilau rice. They forgot the rice and the popadoms!!!!! How is that possibleon a small order?? Then sat to eat the veg pattia to find there was chicken in it. Absolute disgrace. Don't use this Indian in my advice and go elsewhere. Last time they forgot the rice. Time before gave my order to someone else. To the management it's time you train your staff as this is so bad to get every order wrong
I rarely give a 5 star review after just one visit, but this is a no brainer! I have been getting take-aways from Punjab House for a few years now, but had never actually eaten in the restaurant until recently. Punjab House is located at the southern end of Park Street in Dundalk ton centre. There is ample parking nearby, and it is within a short walking distance from the local train station. Having gotten some take-aways from Punjab House, I had suspected that the food would be reasonably good, but I was simply blown away. Firstly, it is not a large restaurant, but it uses the space well, and no tables give the impression of a lack of space. I ate with a large group of friends, and we were catered for with no difficulty whatsoever. The staff and the service provided was simply second to none! Nothing was too much trouble, and yet at no point did we feel that the staff were over bearing. The menu is extensive, and where some places may do quantity over quality, this is certainly not the case here. Everyone got something different, and each dish was sublime. The wine menu is less extensive, but caters for any pallet. This was one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had, and I will be going back as soon as I can.
HORRIBLE disgusting food. Rude ignorant staff. The worst restaurant in Dundalk. I advise you to never order a takeaway from here. They obviously pre-cook the food in advance and reheat it in a microwave. The chicken biryani was obviously cooked days ago, stored in a plastic container then reheated in the microwave for 30 seconds. It tasted horrible, bland and the chicken was dry and hard. 0/10 Never visit his HORRIBLE, dirty restaurant. It should be closed down!
Great for a takeout meal. One gripe: the rice came in a tin-foil tray whereas the curry did not. This made reheating the rice in the microwave more troublesome after a 20 minute return journey home; a simple fix needed. However, the food did not disappoint, well cooked and full of flavour; well worth both the trip and the money!
