Great campsite and food, the owners are super friendly too
Really friendly people managing the site. We camped and it was great. The whole site was kept clean, tidy, rubbish free. The showers had lots of hot water and lots of space. It was quiet too but only a few minutes walk from the reservoir with lots of activities or in the other direction the pub...we will be going back and would recommend.
Great little holiday let, clean, friendly hosts, spacious rooms, and great location.
We ordered from here almost 2 weeks ago. After the food hadn't arrived after 15 mins late, I checked on the app. The shop had cancelled my order, the never contacted me, never offered substitution. Nothing. Just cancelled the order and kept #23. 90. Thus us not how you run a business and this is actually FRAUD. Beleive me if there was an address for this place I would have gone down there, but no address given on the site or food app. Absolutely disgusting. And now reading reviews I'm happy I didn't receive the food as its all disgusting food. But I want my money back. You can't cancelysomeines order, because you can't be arsed to deliver it and keep their money. The police are being involved now.
The lady who runs the campsite is lovely and can't do enough to help including opening the shop an hour early so we could buy butter having said that, the field was boggy and we were pitched right next to the road which is very noisy night and day. The facilities were OK and had everything needed but were unfinished. I think if we'd had a different pitch away from the busy road and no rain I'd of given 4 stars.
Lovely little local place. Found the pudding room as we were driving to our Airbnb and caught sight of a sign in the road. Visited towards end of day. Tried the white chocolate and gin cheesecake.. this was delicious. So light I could have eaten more
What a fantastic place to camp, great facilities very polite owners
We stayed in the pudding room let. It was clean and nice. Lovely textured soft furnishings. Despite having a fully fitted kitchen we just went out to eat. Had pudding room cakes for breakfast even though there's a pub round the corner and a lake resort down the road.Rooms: 5/5
Fantastic place to stop, rest and sample some delicious home cooked food, small menu, but everything is fresh, cooked to order and the homemade cakes are a marvelous way to round off your repast. The owners work hard to keep this establishment looking good and will happily see to your every need.
Lovely campsite although only a couple of excellent showers and four toilets never any problem using one. Wonderful venue for children to play, secluded, easy walk to Carsington water, pub around the corner selling good food, although pricey. Venue has it's own bakery which is superb. Only downfall is the main road to the side which is very busy during the day, hence noisy. Very obliging owner. Reasonably priced with no extra charge for dogs.
