Princes Rose
"Well established family friendly British Chinese Restaurant that opened in 1989 in Balloch Gateway to the Scottish Highlands! We serve an à la carte menu available to view online. We have a wide variety of starters and mixed hors d'oeuvre to share plus desert with a small bar complete with excellent table service.Frequently visited by locals, and business people we have served celebrities and sports personalities over the years. Sadly due to the fires of many beloved Scottish premises including the historical Cameron House Hotel, our colleagues and locals have been saddened by such a tragic set of occurrences, we look forward to seeing the restoration completed.I personally hope these types of occurrences do not continue."

This place is class. The service from the start was very friendly from Raymond who made good recommendations to us. We had the set meal for 2. Our gourmet sharing starter as seen in the picture came excellently presented, certainly a wow factor. The quality of the food through was superb, and the quantities were perfect. Evan the waiter was also pleasant too. We will certainly be back here again as it’s possibly the best Chinese food experience we’ve ever had. Thanks very much!
Last night we had a takeaway from this restaurant. My partner had chicken curry, and I had beef szechuan. The curry was thin, and runny, and was pretty bad. He didn't really eat a lot of it. Mine was pretty tasteless. I wouldn't normally leave a bad review as taste differs for each person, but today my partner has had a lot of diarrhoea, and stomach pain, and it is the only thing that could have caused this. I would not go back.
As a sitting in experience goes it was OK quite cozy, place was spotless staff were sound as a pound food cam out within a reasonable time frame it was quite quiet mind you the started wad absolutely fantastic spare ribs, the sauce was amazing had the chicken saty for a main meal and it was just totaly tastless looked great but didn't hit the flavour Mark parking available when the ignorant mcdonalds customers aren't stealing spaces designated for the Princess Rose overall it was an OK experience would I recommend eating here ,yes why not not the worst but not the best, somewhere in the middle of a terrible chines restaurant and a superb restaurant
Fantastic food and service, we ordered from appetisers menu as wanted a bit of everything rather than full meal. Chicken Satay was the highlight but everything was excellent, even my 2 year old daughter had no complaints which is unusual.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely shocking service. Definitely do not recommend. Please do not waste your money. Worst service I have ever experienced. Ordered for a delivery and was told on the phone 31.60. I thought great, as all the cash I had on me was £32. They showed up an hour later and asked for £39.60. I obviously questioned it and was told by the delivery driver to call the shop. I did and was handed over to a confused gentleman who said his computer had a lag, that's why he told me £31.60 and that it's my fault. He said I had to pay the £39.60 or send the food back. Which I did. We are on holiday here for 7 days so they have just lost out on a lot of custom. Again, shocking customer service. Please don't waste your money here
Tried this place out thinking any bad reviews would be for takeaway not dining in. Discovered that the prices on the website are entirely misleading. When the online menu stated £7.50 for it,£15.50 for fried rice is the most expensive I've ever seen across England, Scotland, France and Italy. Beef chow mein at £14.50 was also expensive, but we hoped it would reflect in the quality. The food arrived incredibly quickly - too quickly. Our meals were here within 4 minutes. The noodles were inconsistently cooked with some undercooked and rock hard. The flavour was okay, but still didn't live up to the quality of my local Chinese restaurant which consistently provides tastier, higher quality Chinese food for a fraction of the price. The beef chow mein there is much tastier and almost half the price. Waiters rush you to order, ours returned three times in the space of 3 minutes pushing us to order quickly, I assume to pressure us into spending more money on the set meals. Honestly - don't bother. There's plenty of cheaper, better restaurants out there.
Great food, reasonably priced. Were heading south FROM Skye and needed a food break, picked up some takeaway boxes which were very reasonably priced and filling. They are just behind the McDonald's and the car park is accessed by the same small entrance so it can get a little busy with cars manoeuvring sometimes.
Worst food ever tasted from a Chinese restaurant .. chicken noodle soup bland no taste .. chicken curry salty as I’ve ever tasted .. prawns with vegetables and noodles .. lacked any quality taste .. specials on menu .. mussels .. ordered was told not available .. but the crispy prawn was ordered .. weren’t to bad .. decided not to order dessert ., out of the meal which I would recommend.. prawn crackers lovely and thin crispy best I’ve had … As for this restaurant body swerve it . Service was prompt though .. again was a lunch menu and not busy !
Received a delivery which came in good time. Food was delicious and good portion size also. Excellent customer service from both restaurant staff and delivery staff. Would deffo recommend and look forward to dinning with you again .
I have to say been here previously and had nice lunch, however recent visit was not so good. Food was OK but could have been a bit warmer. Very disappointed that charged £2.50 for a soda water. Most places do not charge for this as on tap. Service was prompt but overall disappointing that a lunch visit turned out so expensive due to cost of basic drinks
