Five Friends serves up traditional Chinese desserts in the heart of Chinatown I had a chance to try their coconut milk jelly in the shape of two pigs that has been cutely presented to mock pigs on a farm. The dessert is light and has hints of coconut in there, but it was not super prominent. And of course, presentation was amazing After going down to £4.00 from around £6, I had to give this a go and experience the jiggly-ness of the jelly. Whilst it is decently priced, this would be only be a one-time treat Portion sizes for the desserts that my family chose were relatively small for the price of about £5. But it’s worth trying other places nearby for bigger portions
Very nice traditional Chinese dessert spot. The staff are really friendly and professional. I had the pig shaped coconut jelly and a passion fruit tea. The jelly was nice, light and delicious loved the cute spa king spoon and presentation of the dessert. Watch out for the fruit tea if you like mild things! It’s very aromatic. I’ll be back to try more stuff!
We ordered the Mango Coconut Sago dessert, it was very disappointing. As you can see from the picture, it's very watery and diluted. There was only a hint of coconut flavor, which should've been very condensed and creamy instead. The mango flavor is basically non-existence. Their choice of mango was apple mango, which is not as sweet and flavorful as normal Asian ones. However, they didn't compensate it by adding mango puree. The only good thing was that their sago, not too chewy nor clumpy. Overall, it's very inauthentic and there are lots of room for improvement.
Good value for money, my friends and I were planning to have lunch afterwords, but those desserts and drinks are huge, we basically eat dessert until full. Must try: Pig shapped panna cotta, it's super cute, made with almond milk and roasted coconut. They have good amount of vegan options, 60% items on their menu are vegan. But they didn't mention this unique selling point, I don't understand why. We ordered 3 coconut milk based items, they are very much like each other, I would recommend if you are going as a group, just order one coconut milk item. Sweet level is very low, I would consider call it Healthy Dessert no, just kidding, there isn't such thing in the universe
If I’m honest o had high hopes for my order. My passion fruit jasmine tea was okay but I think not being able to customise sugar or ice level meant it wasn’t exactly to my taste. My biggest issue is that my friend ordered a brown sugar milk tea and it was essentially milk with some tapioca pearls as my picture shows which is a shame for almost £5. I’m still rating a 4 instead of a £3 as the staff were efficient and the environment clean.
Nice Cantonese style dresser house and rare to find in London. You can enjoy really great traditional Cantonese dessert like Guilinggao, White fungus with fruit with a reasonable price.
Had such a great experience here. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The dessert was great. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the main one I got because I dug straight in as soon as it arrived. I did take a pic of the cute little piggy dessert I got. Deffo recommend giving this place a try!
Walked in here randomly with my girlfriend to check it out and we were surprised at the quality of the food. She had a mango mochi and I got grape yogurt ball drink. The thing I loved the most was how the stuff wasn’t too sweet, it was just right.
Sweetness of Black Sesame Paste was just right for me, however flavor was lacking. Coconut Milk 6 was very watery as seen in the picture. Much more ingredients were expected in the milk mixture for £9.
I usually get the mashed taro 5 here and it’s delicious. Slightly overpriced for what it is, but worth it. They have also recently expanded and have a few more seats than previously.
