Lovely area and typical Premier Inn so you know what to expect. The staff are really friendly and nice both in the hotel and at breakfast. Breakfast is once again, what you'd expect from a premier Inn if you've been before. Yummy fry up, good quantities of everything else. Stuff yourself stupid in the morning and you can get away with a small snack at lunch.

Hotel fine if a bit unloved outside. Lack of staff meant long wait for dinner. Did get free food and drink to compensate

It's my experience that, for all the star ratings the travel industry wants to award a hotel, all that really matters in a pinch is that the room is clean, has a comfortable bed, and its own spotless bathroom. I chose this hotel on a recent visit to Skipton for two reasons. One is that I like the chain's beds, which work well for me despite the kind of back problems that have put me in a wheelchair. The other is that the neighbouring Brewers Fayre pub, The Anchor, does a decent gluten-free breakfast. Having read on their web site that the rooms were all accessible, I didn't warn them I was a wheelchair user. This was potentially a mistake, as there is no lift to the first floor rooms, but they put me in one of the rooms in their recent extension. It's designed specifically for wheelchair users - although beware if you self-propel, because it's down a loooooong corridor - and it was great to have plenty of space for me and my chair, as well as properly designed shower facilities. While I'm fortunate I can stand a bit and walk a few paces, this is difficult after a long day driving, and being able to just sit under a stream of hot water was bliss. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, both at the hotel and in the restaurant next door. Breakfast is a buffet affair for the basics like bread, pastries, cereal and what have you, but when you're ready they cook you a fried breakfast and serve it direct to table, so you get your choice of freshly-cooked items. Including gluten free hash browns. I suspect I'll be back in the new year with family in town as we make the transition north.

Premier inn brilliant....... anchor inn very poor and as I can't get breakfast anywhere else like a sucker tried the Brewers fayre for breakfast at 7 (it's opening time) took my order as it's too early to put the all you can eat buffet out........ And the chef is late and the waitress didn't know so...... 15 to 20 minute wait. Why am I not surprised .customer service doesn't exist anymore in budget pubs like this. Expectations should be kept low.......... And again why does a nice hotel have to have such poor catering facilities.

Excellent base for a few days stopover in the Dales. Clean and excellent location.
