Great rooms, decent size. Everything you need. Bathrooms are tired to be honest and the bathroom floor needs changed, it was old vinyl and bubbled causing it to raise in areas. The restaurant staff at dinner were extremely friendly and good service. The food was exceptional. Noteworthy details: Book your taxi to the airport terminal at reception. Crown cabs were on time, clean car & friendly driver. £11.00 Uber wanted £41.00 unbelievable but true.
The hotel is fine but they do not tell you when you arrive that you have to pay for your car parking at a separate meter when you leave. I have just received a large fine for not having noticed the signs. When I called the Premier Inn to say how upset I was and how helpful it would have been if someone had pointed out that there was a change to the system since I was there in January… the man on reception was very rude and unhelpful. All he kept repeating was that the car park is not their responsibility. A very nasty attitude which made my upset even worse. There’s a desperate need for some decent customer service training at this place. I’m not sure I’ll ever stay there again. So BEWARE if you do stay there.
Myself and my son spent night for airport access, staff were helpful and friendly. I'd not shuttled before to the airport so was a little wary but they booked us and told us where to wait etc, we got there early but they checked us in no problem. Shout out to Mark in the restaurant who went beyond to make us feel welcome. Lisa
With the exception of the staff who were great, this is by far the worst premier inn that I have stayed in, so glad it was just one night. The first room we were given had faulty electrics, the light flickering and the key card wouldn't work. The second room had a broken towel rail and a toilet that wouldn't flush, kept having to go to the foyer toilets. On a brighter note, the evening meal was really nice, but the breakfast was a disappointment, not much choice and no tongs were supplied for the bread and baked goods, watching people picking stuff up with their fingers is not appealing or hygienic. Apparently this one is having a much needed upgrade in March but I'll not stay here again, better to spend a little more and stay elsewhere.
Opposite the south one, so dont get them mixed up. The north one is the horse shoe shaped one. It also has nice views of the airport. Found on the outskirts of Manchester, its not only a 5 minute drive to the airport, but its literally just off of a main road too. Parking is £10 a day. Pay at reception and give your registration. Check in was easy, and a required room on the top floor was given easily. 2 lifts available.. Stairs also if you're feeling energetic. The room was standard and as expected. Bed was OK, and I didnt hear any noise from other guests. Breakfast was an open buffet including hot food. My only criticism would be is that the breakfast area felt a little cramped. It was full and busy, with close tables. Considering how big the downstairs area is it could be a really spacious breakfast area. Yes I'd stay again !!!
I booked this place at the last minute and after arriving I regretted the choice. It took 25 mins to check in despite only one person ahead of me. The check in desk was staffed but it seemed like they had no clue what to do. I got my door key and headed to the room - key did not work. Went back to reception for a new key..it was replaced and back to the room. Guess what- key did not work. Repeated this process 2 more times Once again front desk had no clue what to do. I booked and paid for a single room and was allocated a accessible double room. The room was very tired and needed airing. I raised these problems on check out with the same person who checked me in and once again a total blank look was all that greeted me. Not a good experience.
Extremely slow check in and bar service. TV in the room is still 4:3 so needs upgrading. Room hot but due to the proximity of the motorway could have the window open. Good price and 7 minutes from the airport howeverRooms: 3/5
Location was good rooms basic. Biggest problem was the rooms got to hot because the air conditioning had beed disabled or not working. Complaided but staff didnt care. Was very tired for our flight the next day. Staff are not very helpful and very disinterested. Rooms: Very basic thats fine but when the room becomes so hot and the air con doesnt work not great.
Stayed here on a layover. The website claims that there is a shuttle but it will not take you from the airport to the hotel, only from the hotel to the airport and you must book in advance with reception; it costs £5 and the shuttle driver complained about not having cash. Also note, if you take a taxi from the airport cost me £10.50, the taxis say their card terminals won't work and they only want cash. The check-in service is through a computer which is tricky if you arrive early, but there was a helpful woman at the shuttle desk who helped me check in early. My room was fine for one evening; clean and comfortable but a bit old/shabby the carpet was shredded under the desk and there were stains in the bathroom and in the walkway. No refrigerator or hair dryer not an issue for me; just information. The bar has a fine selection of beer. I didn't eat at the restaurant for any meals, but instead walked 10 minutes to a wonderful restaurant called Romper nearby, which I highly recommend. I took an Uber into town £15, took about 25 minutes and saw a few sights in Manchester before taking an Uber back. For the price of the hotel, the airport accessibility, and walkability to Romper, I'd consider staying again if I was here alone. However, it's quite shabby and I wouldn't recommend it if you want a more comfortable/newer hotel.
Typical premier Inn, clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Really handy for airport. Food was OK, not exceptional but prices were very good if you go for meal deal which includes breakfast iRooms: 4/5
