Perfectly located for a night before starting the West Highland Way, and the guys on reception Wayne & Paul were great and super helpful. A short walk/cycle from Milngavie train station and not far at all from the start of the walk. It's pretty tired in places and as utilitarian as one might expect from a busy, non-renovated Premier Inn on the outskirts of a big city. But, it was fairly cheap, clean and dry and did what we needed of it.
Terrible experience here. Booked 4 nights as house was being rewired. Arrived late, given room 200, disgusing smell which they tried to disguise by having all windows open. Dirty entrance and car park full of builders vans. Extremely tired establishment. More like a work stop over full of joiners. When i complained, nice mannered man at reception told me they had no other rooms and could not find me another room anywhere?? Refunded my card, leaving me nowhere to stay at 9.30 at night. I would have rather stayed in my car, only go here if you have very low expecttions of a hotel stay. Rooms: Smelly and tired.
Comfortable & quiet night's stay here before starting West Highland Way. Guy on the Reception was great and Check-in was quick. Online reservation process was easy and liked getting reminder email. Room was relatively spacious and clean. TV was nice and big. Bathroom was ok with good shower. The base of shower attachment had mold but rest was clean. It's not that good value given Hotel's age.
Brilliantly consistent Premier Inn. We arrived at Milngavie train station to start our holiday to walk the West Highland Way. It is a 15 min walk out of the town centre. The check in is efficient and friendly. The rooms clean and have all you need in the right places. The beds have the usual comfy mattresses. We eat next door in the Beefeater for our evening meal and breakfast. One in the party is pescatarian and they cater for all their needs. It is sad to hear the restaurant is closing for a big development due to start soon. We hope the staff can find alternative work. Happy to recommend this and any Premier Inn. Rooms: Standard consistently excellent rooms which have all you need especially their legendary mattresses Nearby activities: Milngavie has a lovely town centre with lots of coffee shops and the start of the famous West Highland Way. Safety: Very safe with key cards to gain entry past 24/7 reception and into your room. Walkability: 15 minute walk from town centre and train station Food & drinks: Beefeater next door with a good selection of staple pub grub meals. The breakfasts are amazing value eat as much as you want. Noteworthy details: Standard excellent Premier Inn quality room and food.
This is a great hotel to stay at if you are starting your West Highland Way walk. It’s a very short walk to the starting point, the train station and the Tesco for your last minute needs. The staff are amazing and really friendly. The rooms are nice, nothing fancy but a nice place to sleep. My room barely had a WiFi signal but there’s a number to call if you have issues but didn’t really need it. The hotel and room was clean. There is no air conditioning but you really don’t need it with the windows open. The mattress was pretty soft but that’s me. You can’t go wrong staying here
A typical PI stay , clean comfy room , great friendly staff and a location close to the centre of all local amenities but far enough for a great nights sleep . 1 star taken off for the restaurant next door being used by the hotel for evening meals and breakfasts is not a Beefeater now and is only for hotel guests which means no atmosphere and a basic level of food and service , not recommended for meals at night as there are far better options in town , absolutely no issues with the hotel , definitely another PI hotel we will recommend
Really nothing negative to say about it. It’s a premier inn so you know what you will get. Friendly staff, easy check in and check out and a good rate on the room. Bus stop at the entrance to the car park with a half hourly bus to the middle of Glasgow to get you in and out and much cheaper than a taxi. No complaints at all.
Very very basic hotel. It was fine for one night before we started the WHW, but it definitely should not qualify as a “B&B” which is what our organizing company quoted us. Staff was very friendly and helpful, however, know it’s a chain motel with very basic amenities. A small fan is in each room. Windows barely open. It was very very hot in the rooms.
Sliding slowly into disrepair. Ground floor rooms can be damp partly as they are below level of car park but also due to inadequate ventilation/extractor fans in bathrooms so dangerous levels of mould build up. Lift had been out of order for 5 weeks before we arrived but no notification of this so had to ask to change to ground floor due to mobility issues lift was finally repaired before we left after a further week. Restaurant operating limited service and often closed completely in evenings while we were there. Greene King’s Burnbrae pub serves decent food and is only 5/19 minutes walk in front of the Bearsden Premier Inn, next to McDs. Waitrose across the road also offers breakfast from 8am but often has limited menu.
Great start to the West Highland way! Lovely clean and comfy rooms, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the restaurant offers good food and breakfast!Rooms: 5/5
