We have two cars the same year and brand. Almost the same milage. My wife’s car MOT + small service was done in the village we leave. My car MOT + service was done at Vulcan Motors garage (Sandhurst). These are four years old cars. No problems with my wife’s car after the service. My car from the time when I used Vulcan is practically dead (spending more time on repairs than road). The work what I found not done by Vulcan but I was charged for this work: 1) Oil and oil filter was not changed (dark oil while my wife’s oil is brown after change). Other garage looked at the filter and it was full of dirt (means old). 2) Small service is supposed to have screen wash fluid checked. Service was carried out during the spring when there was good weather, and finally I run out of the screen wash liquid in two weeks from the service. 3) MOT is also about brakes check. 1 month after MOT in Vulcan I ended up with expensive front brakes repair because brake pad was not checked and it was qualified to be exchanged. My wife’s car which was checked in the other garage, got brake pad exchanged. BTW, interesting is the fact that when I checked Vulcan and local garage invoice, my wife got more work done for lower price. (Vulcan in addition did engine flush instead of changing oil, but I was charged for both). 4) Vulcan was so detailed in MOT check that I got new wipers in front. A pity that they had no idea how to fix it properly in my car – lost one in rainy day when using it something like two weeks afterwards. I checked the maker later and it occurred they put the cheapest and more crappy one. Of course I was overcharged for it as I checked invoice. I wander why so called “Bosch” garage is not using bosch wipers (my brother in law claims these are the best on the market). 5) Car was not vacuumed by Vulcan, but the local garage in case of my wife’s car servicing managed to do it properly. 6) I had good, quite expensive Europe road map in my car. When I asked Vulcan where is it, I got response that there was no map in glows compartment. I wander how they did know the map was there – I did not tell them the map was there when I called garage. This garage refused all my claims. Summarizing, beware of this garage.
