Doesn't deserve more than 1 star. Dirty shop, doesn't surprise me that it's never busy. Broken stock all over the place, very untidy, some things reduced to clear but others still have their original labels even though in the same condition. Upstairs is worse. Even has the old logos everywhere. Avoid.
DO NOT GO HERE, shop is disgusting and falling apart, staff don't care, merchanding in the store is non existant, please do not support this shop.
Brilliant shop, loads of unexpected bits and pieces at really good prices. Certainly worth a browse. The staff are always friendly and helpful too. The only downside is that the upstairs of the store is only accessible via a flight of stairs but there is a sign saying staff would be happy to assist, which I'm certain they would, although I'm not quite sure how that would work, I certainly wouldn't be afraid to ask.
Always worth a look around, wish they hadn't closed the whitley bay one. I love a shop where I can get coffee often cheaper than the supermarkets offers bizarre and wonderful sweets and drinks, a mop, disco ball string lights, toys, quilt, toilet rolls etc etc. Many stores have shut down due to rival stores like b&m and home bargains but seriously go in, look about and you'll surprised at what you will find.
Overall the best prices compared to the other shops in the area wilko, b&m etc. A wider variety would be desirable but given the size of the store perhaps would not be possible. There are few occasions were home bargains nearby was most competitive in prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Bih
Staff too busy elsewhere so told to wait until I was served, presuming putting stock on shelves was more important than putti g money in the till. I stood waiting for a good few minutes until they had finished and then served me. Nor was this the first time this has happened
The manager told me to hurry up as the store was about to close.. So, I did. And bought nothing. Once I got to the door, and then, saw the click tower time.. 16:45, I got perturbed. I raised my voice about how I still had 15mins.. The manager did not like this.., and has banned me ever since! But, no other shops.. Only 'Pound Stretcher' s
Oh dear such a shame, the store is closing down. I didn't use it much apart from buying a few items like deodorant and spec cleaning wipes etc but the staff in my local store were SO FRIENDLY I'll miss the shop. Feel so sorry for the people losing their jobs.
Canny , no nonsense shop where bargains are to be had . Always pop in when I'm in Shields .Wide range of stuff in here - as per usual medium size bargain shops . They seem to have really squeezed their margins on some stuff . All helps.
The regeneration of Spanish City, major work on the seafront and new motel and restaurants has brought about greater visitor attractiveness. However much more needs to be done as area still blighted with closed down Rex hotel as well as need for cosmetic work on other buildings being needed Seafront however is excellent and well worth a visit
