Potbury's Funeral Service, Sidmouth, East Devon

Story

The Business was originally part of Potbury's Furniture Shop and Auction rooms in Sidmouth owned by the Lee family.

in 1992 the Funeral business was acquired by Grassby Funeral Service of Dorchester. Grassby is an independent family run funeral business, with branches also at Hansfords Funeral Service in Seaton and Norton Memorial Masons in Axminster.

In 2001 the business moved to new premises in Sidmouth, having acquired the old fire station in the high street.

These premises were sensitively renovated to incorporate new offices, garaging and a chapel of rest. The business has since acquired new vehicles including a New Vauxhall Insignia Hearse and Limousine.

Under the management of Andy Downham, coupled with excellent premises and facilities, the business is able to provide a very high standard of service to the Sidmouth and East Devon Community.

Andy is fully qualified with the Diploma of Funeral Directing and is ably assisted by Funeral Assistants, Steve Dommett, Colin Comber and Simon Savage.
