I have been posting a lot of medium parcels using different post office, I have just moved around ware and started using ware post office,when I walked in one of the staff started measuring the item with blooming tape measure, even after putting on the scale he told me it will cost me £12+ I ask him why he told me because he has measured it with tape measure and that the price I told him I have been posting same item for a long time even using other post office and same weight as a medium parcel it cost me £5:30 normal price, he spoke to one old lady wearing glasses like a professor they started laughing ,I told him.to give me my item I.am going to another post office and I will come back with the receipt to prove him wrong,I left them laughing and talking behind my back. Anyway to cut story short I went and came back with the receipt and even spoke to the post office person that served me in another post office he showed me what they are suppose to use and ask me to take pictures and show them,went back to.ware post office showed receipts and told them they are over charging customers ,instead of even being abit professional they told me to go to other post office which is charging cheap,I told them I.wont since all post office should be charging same as far as I am concerned. Please if you are posting medium parcels be aware as you will be charged double the price.The staffs are very rude ....
Even though the website states the Post Office opens at 7am on saturdays, the positions were not opened till 9am and a queue of people had started forming. I arrived at 8-50am and was surprised when i checked the opening times!! If the website is wrong it needs changing or if times have changed the website needs updating.
I feel compelled to write about some members of staff not really complying with Covid guidelines: it seems a bit pointless to queue 2 metres apart and wear masks if staff are going to man-handle people's phones without wearing gloves, as well as just assuming thats ok. There are a couple of scanners that don't work, perhaps management can prioritise getting them fixed? I have had instances where I have been able to return items without anyone touching my phone, so I do know its possible! I really don't want to keep having to bleach my phone after every time I've been to the post office. Perhaps some customer service training and Covid guideline updates are in order, regardless of the personal feelings of staff members. Otherwise, staff are friendly and nice.
I have worked here for 10 years, we are a lovely post office. Our customers are great.
Member of staff attempted to overcharge me £3.20 for a large letter! and then took a combative attitude when I politely challenged her. She then got out the template and pretended that it wouldn't fit through by putting it half way in and then pulling it out and repeating the motion the other way round. At this point I took it back and walked out.
Went to the post office today to post a parcel I found the staff polite, friendly and extremely helpful and found they went out of their way to find me a good deal. Totally appreciated.

Don't believe the website opening hours. The newsagent may open at 6am but the Post Office staff don't start until 8am.
I'd rather use Ware post office as staff are much more friendly than Hertford post office and a smile costs nothing.
