Pretty much a mixed bag. Most of the staff are ok fine, but one in particular scowls and barks a lot. Unsure what the problem is. Some days I literally dread going in if she's on duty. Apart from which not too bad. If I could drive I would take my custom elsewhere which is a shame for a town as lovely as Helston. Overall, needs to improve customer friendliness as at the moment, not nice.
Only 1 good member of staff, bad attitude from the rest Seriously lacking in knowledge,, Very arrogant people no customer service. Whoever is training them must be totally incompetent. But unfortunately I find this seems to run all the way through the system. Avoid this nasty place, totally unfit for purpose.
The older assistant at this branch is the worst retail assistant I have ever encountered, she shows great pleasure in making life difficult every time I have visited. I once went in to draw some money out of my Santander account and she abruptly told me I needed authorisation and would have to give notice, it wasn't what she said that bothered me it was the superior manner in the way she said it, on another occasion my wife took some money in to deposit, we had counted it three times to ensure the amount was correct, when the assistant counted it she said it was £20 short, my wife asked her to check as she new it was correct, the assistant counted again and said it was £20 short, my wife said that it had been thoroughly checked and could she count one more time, the assistant said I've counted it twice and I'm not doing it again. My wife left and went for a coffee to calm down, she returned to the post office later with the "same" stack of money and this time the assistant said it was correct. There is a notice on the till warning customers not to abuse the staff, I think there should be another warning the staff not to abuse the customers.
My experience of Helston Post Office has been outstanding. I've been served by, both, Ann and Mary, and both ladies have been professional, welcoming, efficient and friendly. Mary even had the kindness to help a lady out of the store who couldn't walk very well. Thank you, ladies, for getting all my parcels where they needed to go!
Very unhappy with service provided. They are unhappy when you bring letters to drop off to them. They are complaining- oh you did bring too much, or oh.. you came too late. Why they can not do the job normally, like in other post offices? Why i should feel like you are making me a big favor accepting 5 letters? Just close the branch if you not happy.
Once again I can only concur with previous reviews. The service is very slow and the staff are rude, unwelcoming and greet you with a scowl. Mary the manager is in my opinion he worst of a poor bunch. Her face says "whatever you're going to ask me to do will be too much bother". Also, the new female member of staff is the one who received lots of negative reviews from the Londis shop in which the Post Office is situated. Go up the road to Breague Post Office where you'll get a much friendlier welcome. In fact, it's worth driving to any other Post Office anywhere in the country to avoid this one.
I was a bit put off by the reviews but decided to go anyway as I was only 5 mins away. The middle-aged lady at the post office cashier was lovely and even contributed 20p towards my envelope when I realised I didn’t have any coins on me and my card wouldn’t work to withdraw money. It was a nice little gesture which I appreciate! Thank you :
First time using the Helston post office, and probably the last time. Rather abrupt, unpleasant staff lacking in knowledge to fulfill their job role. The lady who "served" me must have had a bad day to be so needlessly rude and unhelpful. If anyone who works at this branch reads this, please be aware that I was not rude or argumentative, I was merely taken aback by an employee of the post office seemingly having zero awareness that starling bank has a working agreement with the post office. When I tried to explain this to the post office employee, they became aggressive and defensive. Hayle post office which I visited shortly after was much better. Couldn't recommend them enough. Their staff are on a different level.
Simply put has a ethos of "how can't we do this". Other post offices in area are amazing. Tried Helston a few times but never accomplished what I wanted to do even tho other post offices can do these same tasks easily and with a smile!
Why did I do it to my self I went back in, as i just missed Gweek post office5 star service always, the wicked witch is still the rudest person I think I have come across , she looks fumming as soon as you open you're mouth, I just walked out, everything is always to much for the staff. Go local Try Gweek/porthleven/Breage they also won't charge you £9.50 to send a letter tracked ,day light robbery and they lied saying its the only way I could get the letter there, even tho my local charged £3.45.
