Took my family member for a memorable early Christmas special, The Massed Bands of the Royal Marines Christmas Special, inside the Guildhall Portsmouth absolutely fabulous. I'd added the Hospitality Chautary board and pre ordered drinks from the bar, so glad this was done! this added to the night being more special, the staff throughout in the Guildhall were amazing, and the hospitality staff also throughout the evening, even assisting me with allergen information. Lol be careful of the security guard.. oh he was a chame, great with his banter and wit, had us laughing before even getting in the building, The Massed Bands...what can I say... Thank you so much for your service, Exceceptional, a very thought provoking performance, it certainly caused emotions, laughter and the use of your voice, I highly recommend.nWe sat in the side circle row FF, loved are seats but I didn't allow for our view to be impeded by a stop your fall rail, To prevent those stumbling down the stairs going over into the crowd below potential Great view and closeness barr that. But good knowledge for next time. Definitely worth pre booking in advance as we did. Couldn't fault the Guildhall in anyway. Toilet clean lifts available, disabled access, really lovely to see the lions at the front and the building wrapped in a bow. Loved our visit.nn40+ years since our last vistnnA short walk from the IBis Hotel Taxi/UBER not required, benches and seating areas pubs and coffee stops along the way if you struggle with mobility like we did. Taking in the atmosphere was also a great part of the night, and we left early so we could bench hop our way there.
We went to see a favourite folk-rock singer perform. The building is old-style and interesting, with facilities spread over a range of corridors, spaces and floors. The central theatre area has stalls with a good rake, and a grand circle that's not too far from the stage. We sat in the side-circle, which was great. The rows are closely placed, and it's not easy to move past others in the row, even when standing.nnThe 'background' music during the interval was too noisy for me - almost as loud as the actual performances - and we had to shout just to hear each other.
Fabulous venue to see the Counting Crows - really impressive acoustics - really enjoyed it.nShame we had to queue in the rain to get in, but understand why.
Had my convocation held here. I felt it was quite warm inside especially when in graduation attire. Very beautiful building. Up keeping it is not to the level. Saw spray painting on walls outside guildhall
I have been to the venue several times prior.nThis afternoon I had to cancel a booked event due to take place this week, due to particular circumstances.nSadly, I didn’t take the ladies name, who very kindly assisted me when I called through.nHow refreshing to actually have a conversation with someone who is attentive.nWithin minutes I received a confirmation email regarding the amendment.nVery reassuring.
