Porton Pets is a bit of a drive away from us about 1 hr but I still use this shop as one of the only reptile shop I go to for livestock which, in my case, is frogs! I’ve bought American Green Tree Frogs from them in the past, and today a Riobama Andean Marsupial Tree Frog. The reptile team at Porton are super friendly and ask all the appropriate questions prior to selling the animal, which I like to see myself as a big advocate for reptile shops to be a source of education for other fellow keepers. The reptile tanks at Porton are clean and well setup and the animals are all active and healthy. Thank you Porton!!
The staff really know their stuff. Sold me a really good tank and all the kit to get started. Turned up wanting a goldfish tank, left with a tropical tank set up and an ice cream!
A well kept area. Great approach. Lovely setting. Spacious and peaceful. Good choice. Informative staff. A pleasant way to spend a few hours. Whether you 're eating or drinking, or just searching for a certain something.? One of the best I've been in. Deserves 5 stars
Peppa pig world amazing addition to paultons park. More than enough to do over a day we didn't even get round to everything. It is pricey for entrance but once in all rides free.
The staff are lovely. There are a wide range of animals to choose from or even look at. There is even an outdoor pond with lots of fish in it. There is a wide range of pet accessories too.
The staff go above and beyond to help with your shopping. A Very knowledgeable and friendly team. The store it’s self is well stocked and if they haven’t got a size or stock they will be happy to order it in. 5 star experience and 4 very happy dogs.
I travelled to Portons today, on the recommendation of a local to me in Winchester Aquatics store as I was on the hunt for a new preformed pond. I arrived and was greeted by a friendly front of house team and made my way to the Pond section. Had a quick look around and found a member of staff, Ashley. Ashley is the General Manager of Porton’s, I later found out and honestly, I cannot begin to explain how much patience, time and true honestly Ashley provided. I explained in detail to Ashley my “man plan”, to put in a new pond now and move my koi into this. Ashley has been the only person I’ve spoken with that has advised me not to do this during the summer and actually wait to the cooler months. Ashley could have easily sold me more, taken my money etc etc, but; and I quote “I’d rather you leave here without buying anything and wait till the winter”. I’ve never seen this honest behaviour before! We decided, the best plan of attack would be to upgrade the pond pump and filter again, I had to convince him to do this, rather than the other way round!, and wait for the winter to create the bigger pond. Ashley took his time to explain set up, unboxing, install, maintenance etc - I’m truly very grateful. I’ll be back for sure to Porton. Ashley and his team are extremely down to earth and only too willing to help! Thank you Ashley.

Made a day trip to visit the garden centre from Horndean.....Made for a great day out seeing all the plants and birds and animals ......wonderful place .....customer service was great and nothing was too much effort either. Thank you for a great experience. If I could suggest a place to grab a bite to eat would make it even better at the garden centre or by the coffee and ice cream stand .....
Kelly was super helpful when selecting my new snake. She spoke to me about which type of food and when to feed my snake. Very thankful for the help and support she gave. 100% would recommend.
