I've been coming to this shop for years and although it stocks all the stuff I need, I try not to use it too much. Unfortunately, I find the staff very rude, unfriendly and when I ask for help, there are two members of staff in particular who can hardly be bothered to look me in the eye or respond fully to my request. I get the impression they see me as a nuisance. Today was the last straw. I am disabled and I needed to put my bag near the till so that I could pack my goods. The woman who was serving me was sarcastic and rude normal for her. This time I snapped and told her how she was always rude to me and I'm fed up with it. Of course she denied it and tried to talk over me. But that was just the point. She acts as though she cannot see me or hear me and she has been doing this for years! Sadly, even though it is convenient, I will have to go elsewhere.
Only go there when I have to. The management there is very rude all the time. Once I asked him for a product he literally snapped my head off! I stopped going there for years because of it. But there are certain products I need that they only sell locally. I started going back there recently and notice he still has that same bad attitude, they way he looks at you he makes you feel very uncomfortable, his face says it all! I avoid him like the plague when I see him in there. If wasn't for the ladies that work there I don't think I would ever go back, as they act normal! and are nice and friendly. It's a bit overpriced but I can't blame them for that I know its expensive to run a small business on a big named street. But as I said I only go there because they do have stuff that other shops don't have.
Love this shop. I have been coming here for ages. There’s everything healthy that you need and they have a good vegan selection too. No need to go and shop at the usual corporate brands when you have a good local on your doorstep. Support your local places!
Came here for the laundry/washing up refill. Great service and good collection of other healthy stuff.
One of our favourite local shops for fresh produce and pantry items. It’s now more important than ever during this global crisis to support our local community stores. I especially love their selection of herbs and seasonal veggies. Plus there is always service with a smile!
Best vegan groceries close to Ladbroke Grove station. They have a good range and the lady serving who I met was very cheery and helpful.
Portobello Wholefoods is a place I shop in on most days, because of this I find it really hard to believe from a few previous reviews that the staff were rude, on the contrary i find the staff to be very helpful and friendly. All the team are nice, and I don’t think over all the years I’ve been shopping here that I’ve ever been spoken to rudely, or seen anyone else addressed that way either. Great range of vegan products, good, helpful and knowledgeable advice given if needed, and If they don’t have the item you want or need they’ll often offer to order it in for you as a special, if they can. What more can I ask for?! Great and valuable little shop, highly recommend.
I like this place, it stocks a good range of health/whole foods for such a small space which is great. You can find a good range of vegan cheeses, milks and snacks. My favourite thing to buy here are the own brand seeds, dates and oats which are decent value - obviously nothing is cheap but you do seem to get good quality and it's nice to support a local business instead of always giving your money to mainstream supermarkets.
The shop has plenty of vegan options. From food to cleaning products, to shower and beauty. They could have more food options, specially on the fridge. There are many healthy items which isn't very easy to find in near groceries. What's pretty bad is the staff attitude. I have been there several times and the staff, no matter who, were always unkind. They pretend they don't see you, they are mostly rude, they are always talking to each other and you feel that you are interrupting something. Honestly I just go there when I must buy something that I can't find somewhere else. If was for the staff I wouldn't go back.
Not a bad shop, but bad attitude from the management, who regularly put " Don't sit here " notes on their stairs, when in fact the few people sitting there don't block the way to their shop at all, it is just some people having a snack or resting a few minutes. Plus, they charged their customers for credit cards payments when in fact this is illegal as the credit cards payments are a service for the businesses to secure the transactions and reduce cash deposits and should not be recharged to the customers.
