Visited today and thoroughly recommend. Food was really good. Best beef and ale pie I've had in a long time. Dad loved the fish and chips and husband loved the BBQ rib beef brisket. Definitely will return x
Party of 15 enjoyed a meal here, we all enjoyed it! Overall bill wasn't as big as I expected and they accommodated me with a broken leg and when I didn't like one item on my dinner they were happy to change it! Recommended
Come into the pub for some food... As were visiting the area for the weekend from Manchester... Staff was lovely and very friendly ... Had nachos for starters was really nice and mains delicious... Although i couldn't eat all of it as it was to filling.... Generous positions sizes and the onion rings was the best i have ever tried... Highly reccomened
Superb food; great atmosphere with friendly staff.
Went here with a friend for the Wave £40 voucher Sept last year. We didn't have a starter and went straight to the main. Food was lovely and hot and the portions generous. I had chicken with a mango sauce which was unfortunately so sweet it took away some of the enjoyment of the meal. We had desserts to go which was handy but they were expensive and all bought in. The waitress was cheerful and a delight every time she came around though. The venue itself was a typical pub and nothing special. All in all a very pleasant meal, but nothing overly special.
Nice food, nice size portions. Staff are polite and there is a nice homely atmosphere. I have been here several times and my only complaint would be the steak, it was overpriced and not a good cut. Sirloin should be tender the one I had was tough as old boots. I will still go back as the rest of the food is lovely, I just won't order steak!
Had a lovely meal there. Good value, great place for meat lovers. Nice children's meals, just to note the fruit shoots are not included in the children's meal deal, only a glass of squash, which is fine, just wish we new before hand.
10 of us went to the Porterhouse to celebrating my daughter Tanya's Birthday, the atmosphere and service were excellent. The food was very tasty and very well presented and the portions were more than generous. It was a great night.

Absolutely stunning Sunday lunch. 5 veg, roast pots, roast parsnips, Yorkshire pud and lamb that literally fell apart as you cut into it so too with the beef . Extremely tasty veg and meat. and came piping hot to the table. Thoroughly recommend trying for yourself. You won't be disapointed.!!
