Portchester Karate Club is the best club that I have ever been to. I have trained, on and off, for many years now and tries several different clubs in a number of countries. Sensei Merv has been teaching Karate for over 40 years now and his formula for teaching, encouraging and getting the best out of students of all ages from 6 - 80+ is just as valid and effective today as it was back when it all started. There is more to this extremely inclusive club than just karate, many students benefit from the lively social environment that surrounds and enhances the team building and karate training. No-one need ever feel left out. There are no course fees, you just pay as you go and this club is a lot cheaper than some other clubs in the area. Sensei knows that people have very busy lives and can not always commit to regular training for long periods due to work, school or other social or sporting commitments. Students are encouraged to train when ever they are able or take breaks from training when they need to and they know they are always welcome to return and pick up where they left off. I can't praise this Karate club enough and I have had quite a bit of experience, one way or another. If you ever have any doubts if this is the club for you or not, just pop along for a free introductory lesson. You will not be disappointed.
