Not a bad wee shopping town. Fair few shops and quite varied. Pity the mall is so bereft of shops though and it really feels deserted these days. Someone really should put some effort into revitalising it. Even the toilets aren't now open to the public. Parking in the town is all very handy and either free or inexpensive. The close proximity to Meadows shopping centre also adds extra shopping options, plus the Rushmere Centre is just a short drive away. A walk down by the river near Bridge street is also a pleasant way to spend an hour.
Portadown station was my boarding going to work for over seven years. The new main building greatly impacted Translink's quality of service, especially to accommodate longer trains and peak passenger numbers. The parking around the station greatly improved over the past 5 years. I experienced few major delays departing from the station. The interior is tidy. Cafe Conjo has good coffee and Gary the barista is cheerful to customers. ATM on-site where needed. Kiosks for sales rarely get overwhelmed.
the police are dealing with a trespasser on the train line, we are waiting for them to finish their job, and then the train will allowed to move 9/8/2022 18:00
It was great place to get a train staff very helpful
Modern clean building with good disabled access. Friendly staff. Clean trains. Plentiful parking is available in the main car park. This is located down the stairs and then around 150 metres away. There is also a car park immediately outside the station but this fills up very quickly. Buses also pick and drop off passengers at the front of the station.
Got my senior smart pass so took a trip to Dublin yesterday. Station is clean and orderly with very pleasant staff. When we were boarding the train, they wished us a pleasant journey. It's way better than Belfast both stations and same service on the way back. Clearly these staff members are customer focused and ENJOY their job.
Passed through here on my all the stations trip. Staff were kind and had a great sense of humor. The actual building was very modern and had many great facilities on offer.
The staff are caring and professional -it's like a good family run concern
