Lied to and refused refund. Bought a car from these guys, the same day the gear linkage broke. When returned to porchester who said they would fix it took it away for a week and on return I checked and no work had been done. Then got taken away again and was without it for 3 months. After kicking up a bit of a fuss we finally got it back only to find a month later it died again. Awful service throughout this time. Would highly recommend going anywhere but here.
UPDATE: 1 The name has chaned from Porchester Cars to Thornywood Cars- keep this in mind when doing your research about car sales. We had do do a lot of online trails to find out all the different names and addresses to do with this garage. 2 Myself and 3 other people have all fought or are undertaking action for a refund. How trading standards are not getting involved at this point is beyond me. Please read reviews carefully before stepping foot here. Would not recommend. Was sold a car unfit for purpose and not safe to drive. My advice to anyone is do research on dealers before getting a car from anywhere. Look through Companies House and any reviews before purchasing a car. Update Beware!! Absolute scammers. We were sold a car presenting over 2000 quid worth of repairs which we have them chance to fix. After a repair with no invoice we found the problems still persisted. Under the consumer rights act we are entitled BY LAW to a refund to which they were not compliant with. After months of fighting we have had no luck. Due to our own personal reasons we have not taken this up with court though this still may be an option espite going down other routes including visa. I hope after the many other customers I have spoken to who have also been ignored and scammed, I hope trading standards do follow through with these cases. A disreputable company who review their own business and even companies house evidence lead me to suggest that this company is not to be trusted. Arrogant owners, poor business ethic. I shall be keep8ng my evidence folder full to the brim!
Just after my chemo ended my partner broke up with me so when I bought this car I was vulnerable and my mind was foggy. They sold me a faulty dangerous car Dec 2017. On the website it said £695 and MOT to April 2018. I had 525 old BMW to part exchange when they came to me they said the citreon c3 was £895 but they would give me £300 for the BMW for some reason I accepted. From the off the electrics played up with the central locking radio display etc. The mot was due Feb 2018 it failed on 7 things includng one dangerous which they would have known about, it cost £480 to fix I paid £60 to get the key fob fixed as I thought that was the electric problem it wasn't. The car completly died whilst driving on a busy a road, I paid £275 to get it towed as my cover was only fro towing for 10 miles. They sold my BMW for £700 there fore they made £1300 from me and a car that was dangerous and lasted 5 months has cost me £1355 and taken all my savings. Under my consumer rights I am entitled to a refund or replacement, they have at present refused they have a furtehr 13 days I will then take them to court. I wish the other people who have been ripped off by this disreputable company come together I am going to try and get in touch and go to the local press.
Very helpful and friendly staff. They didn't rest until they found a suitable finance which save us more than 2000£in fees. Couldn't be more please or happy with the car and the overall experience. Would definitely recomend.
**STAY AWAY**STAY AWAY**STAY AWAY** I'd put zero stars if I could I wouldn't even have a car for free cause it would just be a nightmare. Sold us a car knowing we needed it for hospital visits for cancer diagnosis and knowing we had a disabled child and it brokedown within 5 days, knackered gearbox and oil leak which he fixed with another knackered gearbox we picked the car back up at our cost which had still got a oil leak but now it was covered in scratches chips and dints and the alloys looked like they had been severely curbed. Then we parked on a hill with the kids in the car and it started rolling backwards with the handbrake on which is also knackered then the next day it brokedown again with a faulty master clutch cylinder. It also has a fault on the emission control system, all of the electrics are faulty, there's a misfire on cylinder one and needs a new coil pack and spark plugs. After talking with the owner of porchester cars numerous times and him never returning any of my calls which he constantly promised to do he is now ignoring my calls and messages and switching them straight to voice mail. Can't wait to see him in person
Cannot recommend this place enough, bought a car of them, brilliant service, car developed a fault, took it back straight away, gave me a car to use while my car was being fixed, had car back within a couple of days, excellent friendly service
Tried to sell car with catalytic converter missing left a deposit and can't get it back very disappointed will be contacting trading standards
Rubbish service. They promised to send me service history of a car I brought a year down the line I still haven't received them all they keep saying it's in the post. Lying people don't go to these guys.
Great staff freindley service
I've had 2 cars from this dealer. Both have lasted years.
