An Afternoon Sensory and Visual DelightnnVisited the Boat Haven on a lovely afternoon and was completely captivated. The light was absolutely perfect for photography—the golden afternoon sun glinting off the pristine white hulls and the water created stunning reflections and compositions at every turn. Of course, the magnificent boats are a sight to behold, but what I loved most was the profound sense of peace. The quiet environment, broken only by the distant cries of pelicans and seabirds, provided a serene natural soundtrack. It’s a photographer's paradise and a perfect place to sit on a bench, soak in the atmosphere, and get lost in the moment. A fantastic experience that engages all the senses and rewards any camera lens.
There was a seafood festival happening when we visited on Saturday 13th of September 2025. It was very busy but the atmosphere was really good. No doubt with the throng of people around us. We stopped at one of the restaurants and had a very nice meal and then took one of the cruises out to Isle of Pirbeck. Nice day. We're worth the visit.
Very large Harbour which is Europes largest natural harbour. Beautiful boats and cafes, pubs and resturants. Plenty of seating alongside the water to sit and chill. Boat trips are available to go on.
Our visit to Poole Quay Boat HavennnEven without arriving by boat, Poole Quay Boat Haven offers an absolutely delightful experience for visitors arriving by car. Our recent trip was a fantastic day out, filled with stunning sights, pleasant strolls, and classic seaside treats.nnDriving into Poole was straightforward, and finding parking near the Quay was surprisingly easy, allowing us to quickly get to the heart of the action. The convenience of being able to park and immediately step into such a vibrant area was a huge plus.nnThe main attraction for us was undoubtedly the incredible array of boats and yachts moored in the Haven. We spent a good amount of time simply walking along the quayside, admiring the diverse range of vessels, from sleek, modern yachts to charming traditional boats. It's a truly impressive sight, and even if you're not a sailor, the sheer beauty and variety of the boats are captivating. It felt like walking through an open-air boat show!nnBeyond the boats, the vibrant atmosphere of Poole Quay itself was infectious. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll, popping into the charming shops that line the front. There's a lovely mix of unique boutiques and gift shops making for a very pleasant browsing experience.nnNo trip to the seaside is complete without fish and chips, and we weren't disappointed! We found a fantastic spot right on the front, enjoying our delicious meal with the bustling harbour as our backdrop. It was the perfect way to soak in the lively ambiance and enjoy the fresh sea air.nnPoole Quay Boat Haven isn't just for boat owners; it's a fantastic destination for anyone looking for a relaxed and engaging day out. The combination of impressive maritime views, charming shops, and delicious food makes it a must-visit. We highly recommend it for families, couples, or anyone looking to enjoy the quintessential British seaside experience, all easily accessible by car.
Very clean and well looked after. The staff are friendly and helpful. All the facilities you need – clean showers, toilets, water, and electricity. It’s right on the quay, so you can walk to lots of restaurants, cafés, and shops.nnThe view of the harbour is lovely, and it’s a great place to stay if you want to visit Brownsea Island or Sandbanks. Can get busy in summer, so it’s best to book in advance. Highly recommend!
