Food is OK. Service is kind and even entertaining. The ambient is relaxing. What was unpleasant - when the bill came 12,5% were already included for service. So on top of the bill with included gratuity we were prompted to pay 10%, 15% or more for service! We asked and they said that 12,5% goes to the restaurant and then on top - for the waiter. Personally, I'd rather to have a final price and then give a tip for great service. And not being charged percentage on top of percentage...
Such a great place, like any Polpo including their sister restaurant, the food is excellent. The service here is especially good, and the open plan setting with lots of nature light and a trendy decor is especially great. Here they can open up the windows in summer which is nice, though quiet loud! It's not too expensive and we especially loved our waitress I think her name was Elisha - she really made our night! Would definitely go back and highly recommend.
Good food with a Notting Hill price tag. I dined here with three friends and we ordered a range of dishes: Classics Spaghetti with meatballs, fried seafood and courgettes, scallops, chicken skewers, octopus carpaccio and crab linguine. The scallops were delicious and my friend really enjoyed her octopus carpaccio. The dishes are small, tapas style and the waitress recommended we order three dishes each. This was a lot to me especially when ordering spaghetti so I would recommend ordering a pasta dish and one additional dish as it could end up quite costly. We also had a bottle of red wine which was delicious. See the pictures attached. It was a lovely evening spent with friends but I don't think we will be returning to Polpo as we all agreed that it's a bit overpriced.
A place full of character with branches in few areas. Small plates or sharing plates dedicated to Venetian culinary. Enough choices to suit most, limited wine list but unique - spumenti, red, white and dessert wines - makes you feel like trying them all. The service is friendly and tentive, makes you feel very welcoming. Try the specials or any other unique dish you haven't try yet. A great place for small groups, couple's and families.
Venetian tapas place with outside seating. Food was delicious, but wouldn't come here for dinner. Perfect place for drink with a nibble . The only thing that was very dissapointing is glasses for wine. Why would you serve wine in these glssses? Please get proper wine glasses then i would come back.
We had our spritzes & nibbles for £5 each which was brilliant in hot weather. That also serve food. It might be not everyone's cup of tea, but we enjoyed early 90's music as well.
May 17: down to a disappointed 2*. microwaved, insipid piadina, scraggy burnt courgettes, unmixed campari, an expensive bleh that's no better than pizza express across the way. overall our 5th visit to chain over the years, in clear decline. April 16: I'd never have thought they could make this square space, within an old concrete block, work, but they did, and the grub was all fine, fragrant meatballs, sensual seafood fritto, rare amaro montenegro, just a lazy flabby squid risotto meh away from perfect.
The food is excellent, prices are okay and staff amazing
Overall very very nice food, with a sort of Italian tapas things going on. I would highly recommend the meatballs and the pizza isn't half bad too
I don't have to do any complaints whatsoever the place is very nice, cosy, nice atmosphere romantic and the food is amazing.
