Came in for the quiz and it was very good. If you ever fancy a quiz make sure you head to the polite vicar on a Tuesday! We Ordered some desserts and they were brought over quickly which was great. Definitely returning, Brandon and the girls behind the bar were so friendly and accommodating
Took about 10 minutes to get seated because we had booked a table online and the guy at the bar couldn't log in to the tablet to find our table number. Choice of food and prices were decent, and there are some good deals midweek. However food took about 40 minutes to arrive after we ordered. When it arrived good was OK. Parking: We visited early on a Saturday evening and there were plenty of parking spaces.
Main meals were fine. Sticky toffee cheesecake was terrible, I wish I hadn't gotten it. Soured the meal for meFood: 3/5
Unfortunately we arrived at 6 pm hoping to have food from the delicious looking menu, but we're told the kitchen was only doing food for people who had reserved a table as they had been so busy during the day. The polite vicar is tidy and clean, with a good varied menu, hard working staff and a lovely atmosphere. Kid-friendliness: A family friendly pub
We had a super experience here for Mother's Day. We were a party of 7. Service was efficient and friendly. The food was truly amazing. The steak in the fondue sharing platter was melt in the mouth tasty. Plenty of beers on tap to choose from, along with Koppaberg alcohol free for me. We will definitely be returning.
Welcoming staff, very well presented pub/ restaurant. Met with a group from our race team for food and drinks. All the food was great… I had the steak fondue, not expecting much for £25 but wow! 2 of us struggled to finish it. Cooked very well and seasoned perfectly. Well done! I will be back
Average typical pre cooked " not bad for the price" meals. I would much prefer to spend more and have better food. Staff bland and uninterested and manager plain rude. Atmosphere, had a better atmosphere in a nuclear shelterFood: 1/5
We only really went in for a late drink on a Monday night and found this place to be comfortable, hospitable and very accommodating. They was live Premier league football, a pool table free on Monday nights apparently which we took advantage of, and comfortable seating. We enjoyed here so much, we came back the Monday after too.Service: 5/5
We had a table booked for 7 people on a Saturday at 5pm. We waited far too long to be served with our food even taking into account the busy time and 2 ordered meals were missing when they did arrive and had to be re-ordered, so we ate at different times. There was several items missing from the menu one of us had their 3rd choice meal, due to lack of availability and 2 deserts were also "not available". But the worst was that the quality of meals was so very poor. Flatbreads were hard and cold, with very little topping, and one steak appeared cooked on one side only. The meals bore little resemblance to the photos on the menu. We will not be visiting again.
Went for 5 food challenges with my friends. All looked good on the website. Arrived there and the table was booked and we sat down. All looked good. We went to the bar and placed our orders. Paid. And went back to our table. We waited. And waited. And waited. For pretty much an hour. The food arrived and was exactly as we expected. 4 out of the 5 "completed" the challenge. And according to the menu our name would be on the hall of fame. But sadly not this time.
