Delicious pizzas, amazing range of wine and really friendly and knowledgeable staff, all in a beautiful setting. A gorgeous spot for my friend’s wedding reception
We had the most amazing experience at Polgoon—an absolute must-visit if you’re in the area! The setting is stunning, with vineyard views and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease.nnThe pizza was fabulous—freshly made with quality ingredients, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. You can really taste the care that goes into every bite. It’s not your average pizza—it’s something special.nnAnd the cider? Outstanding. Each variety we tried was crisp, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. Whether you prefer something dry or a touch sweeter, there’s something for every palate. It paired so well with the food, we couldn’t resist bringing a few bottles home!nnFriendly staff, great vibes, and an unforgettable combo of delicious cider and standout pizza. Can’t recommend it highly enough
We stopped here for lunch and the added bonus of a self-guided tour & wine tasting.nnEveryone was very friendly, from the very first greeting in the shop to the service at the restaurant. And they were also very accommodating of our dog who also had a great time throughout!nnThe restaurant had a surprisingly great selection of food & specials. I was spoiled for choice and opted for the crab sandwich which was generous with the crab meat. It was nice to be able to sit outside in their covered seating area, but have the option of going indoors if the weather was not on our side. Overall, a very relaxing atmosphere and good food.nnThe self-guided tour was short but sweet. Guided tours are available at time-slots throughout the day, but we opted for self-guided because it was incredibly convenient to be able to do it at our own pace - especially with the dog in tow. I liked the fact you could get a feel for the place before tasting some of their wines.nnThe wine tasting consisted of a white, a rose, and a red - supplied with some useful tasting notes. Really enjoyed the white. I don't think it was a grape variety I had tried before.nnWe left after having purchased a couple of bottles of wine and cider from the shop, including a bottle of the white wine tasted earlier! Happy to support a family business who are clearly on to a good thing.
It's so interesting to see what lies behind the gates of Polgoon. An apple orchard for producing cider and acres of vines, some under polytunnels, for producing the wine. I don't think there is a vineyard in such a lush setting anywhere else in the world. And the wine! Wine that reflects the unique terroir of this part of West Cornwall. All the produce for making the cider and wine is picked by hand and the end product is absolutely amazing. We'll be visiting again later in the year for lunch and looking forward to it already.
This vineyard is absolutely stunning. It’s impressive to see that Cornwall produces wines of such exceptional quality that can easily compete in the market. The vineyard is meticulously maintained, and the addition of an apple orchard enhances its charm. The shop and restaurant offer refreshing drinks, high-quality food, and excellent produce from the vineyard itself. I am delighted to have had the opportunity to visit this remarkable place and learn about the art of winemaking. The wine tasting was also absolutely amazing.
