Set in a beautiful location, Plumber is an ideal place to escape, providing fantastic food and atmosphere. Using seasonal and local produce, Head Chef Louis enjoys coming up with new and creative ideas alongside the traditional favourites.
Plumber Manor is a Country House Hotel and Restaurant located in the beautiful Dorset countryside close to the local old market town of Sturminster Newton.
Built in the 17th Century by Charles Brune, Plumber has been a home to the Prideaux-Brunes ever since. In 1973 Richard Prideaux-Brune decided to change the Manor house into a hotel and restaurant and has been running it ever since alongside his wife Alison, and brother and chef Brian.
In the restaurant we have three dining rooms, a small, atmospheric dining room attached to the large main room, which is alongside the cellar. The cellar is a charming vaulted room used largely for parties of up to 20 people.
Upstairs in the main house is a gallery, and grand piano, with a large comfortable sofa where parties often gather for drinks before dinner.
We have 16 rooms, all including breakfast, 6 in the main house and 10 in the courtyard. 4 of the rooms in the courtyard allow dogs.
Also available for use is a tennis court, with racquets and balls available to borrow on request, free of charge.
Our unique sweet trolley is always a hit with our guests, a wide selection of homemade desserts to please all including gluten free options.
Over the years we have developed an outstanding reputation for customer service, excellent food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the hotel.
