Last year I decided to blow the dust off the guitar sitting in the corner of the living room and learn to play it properly. With the help and patience of Simon I managed to attain a distinction in the acoustic guitar Preliminary exam and feel I am well on my way to sitting the grade 1 exam. The method of tuition Simon uses works very well in that he enables you to learn at your own pace and does not leave you feeling that you are trying to do too much at once. I would strongly recommend anyone who is thinking of learning to play the guitar to speak to Simon.

I started lessons here just over a year ago, and I love it! The teaching is fantastic, which has been shown as i progress through the grades. The time and effort put in by Simon is great, and much appreciated! I would recommend lessons to be taken here to anyone looking for a worthwhile experience.

Our sons (9 & 14 yrs) have been going to Simon for guitar lessons for the past 4 months. Simons' warm, patient and quiet approach has really appealed to them and both are thoroughly enjoy going along. The oldest passed his preliminary grade exam with distinction thanks to Simon's tuition and my sons' consequent motivation to practise. I have found Simon to be very professional and excellent at keeping us in touch with whatevers happening. I would thoroughly recommend Play Guitar to anyone! We're really happy and impressed with the service.

I've been attending lessons with Simon for a bit over a year now. I'd played guitar for a while before I started, but in the past I'd always relied on guitar tabs, even though I could read standard notation from playing the piano. Since taking lessons with Simon I've learned to play using sheet music, my ability and confidence in improvising has increased dramatically, as has my understanding of music theory and I've passed 2 RGT exams with distinction(the highest possible grade). It is no coincidence that most of the reviews use the words encouraging and patient as they were the first two words I thought of to describe Simon too. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for guitar lessons.

Having decided to take guitar up again after a 25ish year absence, I started to look for lessons. I found Simon's website and decided to go for one to one lessons. Simon puts you at ease and his teaching methods are both encouraging and confidence building. Playing is a pleasure and I look forward practicing and to my next lesson.
